Anybody who thinks this is Jeff's fault, I have a Skyway fuel cell to sell you...

I am just going to make one post on this topic.

  1. I am a QVC EMPLOYEE, but I am far from being a QVC exec. Involving my employer in this is totally unnecessary. Anything that has happened between Jeff and I is in no way related to QVC. Please do not let this impact how you deal with QVC.

  2. The last I spoke to Jeff was around May 6 when I returned his phone call. At that point he did not have an estimate from the insurance company and still thought he had $1000 deductible.

  3. I have not received any phone calls or emails from Jeff since that time. Jeff just needs to call.

I have requested that the admins close this thread and Jeff's other thread so that we can settle our issue in private. I would appreciate you cooperation by not posting any further items to this thread. If you have comments of value to Jeff please PM them to him personally.

Jeff told me and my riding buddy a story about how he used a posting on a forum to embarrass a guy when trying to resolve an issue with a client that was not settling up after many contacts. In this case he has opted to post out here with my name and my employer's name instead of picking up the phone and calling me.

Thanks,

Brian Church

Hope it works out for all concerned, as they say, there are two sides to every story and some of us that have posted here ( me) need to have all the facts before shooting our mouth off. Best of luck to you both, with the injuries, both physical and financial.

Brian, if I have pounced on some foul fodder from Jeff...I apologize. I hope you two are able to get this resolved quickly to both of your satisfaction.

Edit: Let me say that if MotoJeff has lied about this situation...he is toast in my book. Toast.

I was going to close this thread and let these two work it out by themselves.... but upon re-reading it all, this thread remains open.

That having been said, I would encourage the non-involved (that would be everyone but Jeff and Brian) to refrain from posting contentious messages while these two hash it out to their mutual satisfaction.

Should that not occur.... 'tis only 3 days till Friday!

I hope we'd all treat this thread as a reminder to avoid "herd mentality" on issues.

I know I will.

One small suggestion, the phone rings on both ends. You can pick it up and call him too. You did the damage, I would think you should take the lead at getting it resolved.

Hmmmm. First off i am not a forum guy. Other than my Old Timer MX Forum and now this one, I do not belong to any.

Not at all. If anyone cares to contact me, 760.792.2986. I will supply police reports, supply repair esti, mates, whatever.

But I did just receive a call from Mr. Church. Summation of the coversation was him questioning me as to why i didn't contact him. I did. After about 4 days after he was in the hospital. Back then he said my insurance is what will cover it. I am a fairly passive person and I didn't think it was right to contact Mr. Church further. He had my business card with my home phone, email and work phone. I only had his info through the company I work for's business records. For me to access that for personal use is not professional nor right. After Mr Church said to me that he can sue me for liable he stated he would not pay me anything then hung up. So I guess this is the end of this unless I want to go throught the hassle of court and suing someone an the other coast. I went back and counted...... I posted twice in regards to this matter (other than thank you's). I would have never said or posted anything except after someone comes into my office talking about reading about the crash on this forum. It bothered me that someone could share the experience of crashing my bike and not contacting me.

Thanks again for everybody's support and input. It was totally appreciated.

motojeff

P.S. Don't let anyone ride your bike!

We don't know the WHOLE story, and never will. At this point I think we need to try to avoid adding any inflammatory posts. Hopefully both parties will be able to come to a resolution.

When I first started reading your post, I was like, 'dude, you should have tried contacting him a few more times'. But you are correct. It would have been unethical and unprofessional to get his personal information from your employer. Perhaps, they could have tried to contact him on your behalf? Regardless, imho it is his responsibility to make things right.

I don't know you, nor do I know Church. I don't know your characters. I don't know the whole story. But experience has taught me there are always two sides. Regardless, I hope that you two can work things out, though if what you just posted above is true, its not looking very good.

Best of luck to you.

Speaking for myself, I don't want or need to review any bills or police reports. That's for you two and the insurance adjustors, and maybe your lawyers, if it has to come to that.

I'm glad Brian posted, just because the forum had worked itself up against him and really had heard only one side of this dispute. Jeff, I hope you get financially restored to your satisfaction, and Brian, I hope you heal well and soon. And I hope you're both satisfied with whatever you two settle on.

Got my finger hovering above the Thread Lock-down button..... hope I don't have to push it.

The way we want to handle this is to let these two gentlemen hash it out. As long as I don't see any "fuel on the fire" posts, I'll leave this open. If not... I'll close it down.

Until Friday.... :glare:

If someone tells you they're renting motorcycles they have the option to buy the "total it and return the keys" insurance. I did that when I rented a Buell and a Harley (both before the FJR, let it go). I didn't know either bike, I barely knew the route and if they guy at the counter says "hey, if you wreck it, you won't pay a dime for the bike" I'm going to take it.

I would lend out my bike to three people on this forum today. I'd probably lend it out to a handful of others if I met them in person. I could not see myself loaning out my bike to someone I had just met or didn't know except for a few random posts on the internet. I don't care how long they've been riding. There's no way I'd loan my bike to WC today, even though I know how long he's been riding, he seems like a nice guy, but I've never met him in person. (Just picking on WC because he's well-known, or infamous :) )

All that being said, my usually-asleep-conscious would bother me to no end if I did this to someone's bike...I get nervous just moving other people's bikes in a smooth flat parking lot to get it out of the way for someone else.

Just finished reading this entire thread.... I have yet to have anyone ask me if they can ride my Fjr and probably won't since most know how much I care about it.. :)

What I've learned from this is.... I have very few friends over the years that I would let use my bike or boat... The one time several years ago that I let a good friend of mine (best man in my wedding) use my boat while I was gone for the weekend called me late one Saturday night and told me I had bad news and good news and wanted to know which I wanted to hear first. I said "Bad News" his response was while boating we hit bottom and totally ripped up the bottom drive unit. I was freaked out and thought he was joking with me... he wasn't. After I calmed down, I asked what the freaking good news was? He said, "It's in the shop already getting fixed." Even though I don't see this friend very often, I'd still let him take my bike for a ride.

I hope all works out for both of you...

Dave

Jeff WILL make out fine in this whole thing I'm sure, because the law is on his side. That's why I said it's getting out of hand. Between insurance and court he will prevail.

Brian is the one out of work, in pain, and can't provide for his family. So who really has it worse right now. And I don't hear him complaining.
Dude. No offense, BUT YOU DON'T GET IT.

Brian ****** up. When it comes to his own injuries, it's all his own fault. And he is being a total ********* by not making things right with the person he wronged.

And if you think having your bike wrecked, hopefully repaired right, not having use of that bike for several months, dealing with insurance companies and even worse, the courts, is 'making out fine', then you are living in a fantasy world.
Or he is a lawyer.

Wow everyone...Let's keep the backpeddling to a minimum. Sheesh.

I can't believe everyone here jumped on the 14 year old girl "I'm gonna tell all your friends what you did" bandwagon.

This issue should have never been brought to this forum, but it was...And personally, I question the motives.

If the Jeff has the time to post up here and gripe, he has the time to do other things to make this right in his eyes. If he's so sure he's right, I wonder why those things haven't been done yet.

NONE of this is any of our business.

AND...I'd still let most of you ride my FJR. Well, not Skooter, but everyone else. :p

THIS.

My philosophy EXACTLY when i am using ANYTHING that is borrowed.

Cars- Always returned with a full tank and clean

Any damage- PRIORITY Numero Uno.

I am also a skeptic about anyone riding my bike. It falls under the simple rule: Don't ask to ride my bike and i wont ask to ride your Girlfriend. ;)

I hope that these two can get things resolved, Even though sometimes holding someones feet to the fire is needed.

Good luck.
