I'm hoping . . . and praying . . . that someone has one of these laying around that they aren't using and can part with.

I can use PayPal if that helps.

Thank you!

I've got one. It is an awesome tool. But I think that JustRoy is out of the tool making biz.

Maybe if one of you guys PM'ed Dave, aka 08FJR4ME, he might be interested in turning some of these out.

If he needs one to copy I can send him mine for a while.

Great idea, I PM'd him

Fred . . . you're a genius . . . . "DAVE!"
First off is it for sure that Just Roy is all done making these? I would have to talk to him first before making any. The other thing is he was making these real cheap. I think I might have even mentioned that in his thread at one point. I can't seem to find his thead for selling these. I might be interested in making a few but I don't think I have the time to take on another project. I have been staying pretty busy enough allready. I don't have one myseif so that would be the driving point for making a few anyway. I will try and get a hold of Roy.

Here's the thread: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=118064&hl=steering+head+bearing+wrench

Looks like we're coming up on 1 year since anyone has gotten a response from him. I know his PM mailbox is full (as indicated on post 211 on page 10, as well as my own attempt a couple months ago), so unfortunately, you won't be able to get a hold of him via that method.

For what it's worth, I would be interested in one.

I know that Roy was facing serious health issues. I hope he's not responding cause he's riding and not due to health.

Hey Dave,

First off, sorry to have volunteered you for this. But hey... what are friends for?

Seriously, if you do decide to make some of these, I would not even attempt to match the prior pricing that Roy gave. I think he was doing it more as a goodwill gesture to the fellow forum friends than as a vendor / customer situation. Just figure out what you need to get to make it worthwhile and price it accordingly.

People will either buy them or not.

I'm pretty sure that there are still other (fairly inexpensive) options. Folks should still be able to get the Yamaha style knock off Meissner spanner.

Knock off Yamaha Spanner Wrenches are out there for $28 . . . not a bad deal at all . . . I found a friend here locally that has the Just Roy Socket that I got to borrow for servicing last week and must say it's "the nuts" . . . it is indeed one hefty piece of metal . . . the only thing I didn't care for was that the one I borrowed had been painted and the paint flaked off onto my steering head . . . I know it's not a problem . . . but being a meticulous neat freak about my work it bothered me . . . I'm not sure if they were produced with the paint, or not, but if "someone" were to make these in the future I would leave them unpainted . . .

They came unpainted. At least mine did. I wouldn't want the paint either.

If you were worried about rust on it smear some grease on it before you put it away.

Which brings up a good thought. Roy made his from steel. These sockets only have to be used up to 37 ft-lbs. I think that they could be made from alloy instead of steel, no? Would make em a lot easier to mill out, I'd think.

I thought the same thing when I used the Just Roy Socket . . . it's about twice as heavy as it needs to be (no scientific value behind that . . . just an observation based upon it single duty)

Roy gave me one of his sockets when we rode to SFO a couple of years ago.

That thing is one serious hunk 'O steel.
