I've put 91 thousand miles on my 95 Honda Del Sol. Not a single flat in ALL these 12 years.

I've had my '04 Feej for 18 months. Picked up my 4th damn rear tire nail coming to work today.

What the 'f is it with motorcycle tires? I've had 6 flats on my '02 ZRX1200R, and now 4 in 18 months on the Feej.

The GIGANTIC PISSER? The tires are brand-******'-new. Less than 400 miles on my Avon Storms and the rear's got a big frackin' screw drilled into the dead center of the tire

WTF!!!

Screw buyin' a new one...I'm buyin' one of these

FWIW, After having three flats in 10 days on brand new tires, I located a local tire shop that also sponsors local auto racers. They do excellent patches on the inside of the tire and have no issues understanding Z-rated performance tires.

They charge me $7 per tire. I hang them up on the garage wall and reinstall the next time.

Uhhh, hello? Bueller?

Avons come with a road hazard warranty for the early part of the tire's life. Can you say "free replacement"? :yahoo: I thought you could. It's only been mentioned like a freakin zillion times around here. Fukin noob! :p

And I have only said it a million times, just say "NO" to the Tire Plugger mushroom repair kit. Sheesh! Do see if you can keep up, eh Howie?

Welcome back from hibernation Howie (you too, skoot). So refreshing to see some old school bitchin' and slammin' goin' on.

Oh, happy days!

Love the Wally World tire repair strings. That should start a pro/con bash; snowing here, boring. Ian, Iowa

Why "NO" on the mushroom style? I've used the sticky-rope style before with only about a 50% success rate...the sticky string works its way out sometimes...but the mushroom style appears like it's a great solution to fill the puncture AND the inside of the hole as well.

So how's the collarbone?

66 hundred + friggin' posts!!!

What did I do? Blink?

Christ, you have NO life. :)

I have and carry both. If I see someone I don't know with a flat I'll let 'em use the mushroom plug. Next time my tires gets a hole I'm using the sticky string.

Again, another vote against the mushroom plug.

Why?
They let go. Seems most prefer the string, including me. :dntknw:

Go figger...don't see how that mushroom head could come out, but ya never know.

You use the sticky string kind with or without additional glue/cement?

Use the freakin search noob!

Gawd, I crack myself up sometimes!

Hmmm......perhaps because it doesn't work? For most of us normal folks, sticky string has been 100% reliable and the mushroom plug kit has been unreliable. Perhaps you are installing the sticky string incorrectly. You DO need an IQ of about 20 to do that.

Collarbone is just dandy, thanks for asking.

And just cause I love ya babe, I actually got off my *** and used the search and came up with the following links for your reading enjoyment. Your freakin welcome.

Grog say, glue good. No glue, not so good. I'll tell you what though, pack a couple of pair of rubber mechanics gloves with the kit. That string gunk and glue has a half life greater than plutonium when you get it on your hands!

I'll just cut to the chase for ya, Howie. Any "mushroom" is a fungus. Now, who in the hell wants that in their tire?

Welcome back from hibernation(skoot).
Speaking of... Did Skooter get a girlfriend or sumpin? We just don't seem to be the love of his life like we once did.

(I have to quit typing now...it's hard to see through the tears...)

oh no! another tire thread posted in the wrong place! ;)

Naw chick,

He did say it was on the Feej so it IS FJR related ;)

Skoot's confoozed...we're talkin' about tire plugs...he's thinkin' hair plugs.

And to the dogpile suggestion, and with apologies to Pink Floyd...

"...all in all you're just a 'nother **** with no balls..."
