Ok folks who is up for a ride around Lake Tahoe on May 12th, this is the day before mothers day.

i have posted a picture of the route below, as you can see you won't be seeing much of the lake itself but yo uwill see a lot of nice twisty roads. We plan on starting and finishing in Carson City but come join us along the way if you can.

This promises to be a nice fast ride (acording to john). not sure what time we will be starting but I am sure we can accomodate all (or most) of your needs.

According to MS streets and trips this route is 371 miles long.

Let me know who wants to come out and play.

B-b-b-b-but what about those of us who DON'T want to ride fast?

Your route will be missing one of my favorite "therapy" roads. Rather than going South into Jackson, in the town of Plymouth, make a left turn (East) onto Fiddletown Road, about 1/2 mile from Hwy 49 take the right fork and enjoy the ride. Careful, there are unmarked closing radius turns but it is a yee-freakin'-haw road. At the top it dead-ends at Shakeridge Rd. Turn right and ride to the town of Volcano. You will love Ramshorn Grade! Turn left in Volcano and it is a nice ride to Pine Grove where you can turn left on Hwy 88.

Dang--now that I've published this EVERYONE in NorCal will want to ride it. It is listed on Pashnit.

There are 2 great places to eat in Plymouth, a "General Store" in Volcano for snacks or drinks, and many places in Pine Grove.

I'm old, I'm slow... Take me a while to mull it over, but I'm a gamblin fool, and Carson's got casinos

Yes Ray they do have casinos and they also have lots of tour buses so make sure you turn that alarm on.

Oh man, oh man, oh man, I'd estimate that to be just about 371 miles of "nice twisty roads".

Whadda you nuts, Richard? And miss the west coast's FJR social event of the season right in your own backyard?
I know, unfortunately I have to be in reno that weekend for Mothers day or i would be at the Barby too.

On the plus side I heard a nasty rumor that we might be getting a return visitor in the fall and that would mean another barby and also alot of riding this time and no work.

New orders. No riding 'til June, hence, 'crap'. Not that I'll pay much mind to those orders, but that long a ride would prolly not be advisable. Crap. I love that route.

get on that horse and ride,, does the term " Practicing medicine mean anything" :headbonk:

So John

It seems that Sonora pass opened today, this will make it god for you to get your tank installed. After install we can head back over Sonora and home.

Here is a revised 2nd half of the route.

I may join you guys in Jackson and bail at hwy 89 or hwy 88 for the ruturn home. Need to keep the rides fairly local til the shoulder gets a little better. Any clue what time you might be rolling through Jackson?
