My 09 mirrors are not cutting it so want to install FZ1's. The stock mirrors come off but are they attached to extenders? If so, the FZ mirrors do not line up with the extenders. Remove extenders? I have read a lot of post about the upgrade but don't see anything about the exact install instructions.

Thx.

Step 1 remove stock mirrors
Step 2 install fz1 mirrors
The end.
2 nuts off, 2 nuts back on for each.

I think you are referring to the mirror base which allows the mirror to swivel, unless you have a separate extender. The base attaches to the front subframe with two long bolts and two nuts/washers.

Sounds simple. Removing the Tupperware is the work.

you want to order the first generation fz1 mirrors... everything should line up perfectly. just make sure you remove the mirrors from the stay (2 bolts)

btw im in the market for oem gen2 mirrors if you can part with yours

These are the Yamaha OEM part numbers for the correct FZ1 mirrors taken from the boxes. I have used these mirrors on both my 2007 and 2014 FJR's.
