What's the NUT when it comes to leathers

+1 I have a Barnacle Bill suit and it's the highest quality piece of riding gear I've ever seen. SUPER strong and fits like a glove, which is no surprise since it's custom made. Highly recommended. Mike

    Vibrations...

I think it's normal actually. I noticed it a lot with heavy amounts of throttle around 4000. The engine just isn't quite in it's happy zone yet and it's just lugging a slight amount. As you found out revving it up a bit more smoothed it out. Just about every bike I've owned had a zone of...

anyone else experienc"wobble" in high speed curves

I've experienced it and I'm not at all surprised by it. I weigh 250 pounds and like to ride a spirited pace. It all boils down to the suspension. For me, there simply is not enough adjustability to handle a bump midturn at high speed. EVERY bike I've owned has been like this until redoing...

Pennsylvania Riders - Check In Here

I'm in Lancaster,PA, just off route 30. This area sucks for riding in the twisties, however heading west and/or north for a bit will get you to some nice sport riding roads. MIke

    FJR VS Bandit

I got rid of my B12 and got an FJR and they are night and day different in the handling dept. Now, as mentioned there's so many vairables. First my Bandit had completely reworked suspension front and rear calibrated to my weight. The Bandit handled so so so much better than my FJR. Since it...

    Used FJR price

I just picked up an 05 ABS with 3500 miles for 10,500. Came with two windshields, a sargent seat, fork brace, magknight tank protecotrs, wilburs shock with remote preload adjuster, magnetic tank bag, service manual, throttlemeister, and a fresh new tire. Mike

    New Owner, couple questions

Thanks for that info. What was the total for all the parts? I'm assuming the RT springs are still around $100. Mike

    New Owner, couple questions

I have to say I am spoiled by my Racetech setup I had on the Bandit. The Bandit had the crappiest setup of any stock bike I've ever ridden. After getting the right spring and valve settings from RT it transformed the Bandit into one rock solid, yet compliant ride. I tried some recommended...

Anyone else find the Sargent seat uncomfortable

The bike came with the Sargent already installed. Today I rode the bike with the stock seat to work and it was more comfortable. It's hard to say how much more comfy the stock one is because I literally still am sore from riding just 25 miles at a time with the Sargent. The stock seat either...

Anyone else find the Sargent seat uncomfortable

I do. I just bought an 05 FJR and it came with a Sargent seat. While the seat looks wide and comfy it certainly isn't for me. After about 15 minutes it gets to the point where I'm not enjoying the otherwise perfect motorcycle. I think the problem is the steep taper from the very wide...

    New Owner, couple questions

Yeah I tried adjusting the lever farther out to no avail. Still has a wooden feel to it. It's fine for now as it gets the bike stopped just fine, you just have to squeeze harder than the 04 I rode. I'll bleed the brakes and see what happens. Mike

    New Owner, couple questions

Well that stinks about the brakes. I gladly would have taken more positive lever feel over ABS.

    New Owner, couple questions

Well I finally bought an FJR after lurking here for about 3 months! Great bike, but it could be better. First, is there a difference in the brakepads or brake systems between the ABS and the non-ABS version? The reason I ask is that the stock 04 FJR I test rode had much stronger front brake...

    Front tire cupping - why?

Cupping is normal on tires that have tread cuts going across the tire. This is why Avons for example don't cup. Mike

Anybody order an 06 FJR on the East coast

I'm starting to justify ordering an 06 FJR instead of looking for a used 04 or 05. However, searching on this forum, I'm finding all the dealers that are offering the FJR at under MSRP are in AL or TX or similarly far away from here. I'm in southern PA and was wondering if anybody ordered one...

    How low can you go...

What a poser! Most people lean IN to the turn to avoid that. I think this guy was just looking to make sparks. MIke

Wanted: 04 Or 05 FJR In Southeast Area PA

I'm looking for a clean low-ish mileage FJR. I prefer the 04 and the 05s, ABS or not. I live in Lancaster, PA which puts me an about a 100 miles radius from Philly, Baltimore, Harrisburg, Reading.... so if you're in this area PM me and hopefully we can work out a deal. Mike

    Engine Braking On The AE

I can only assume it blips the throttle for you, just like the paddle shift cars do, making shifts silky smooth. I guess we'll have to wait until the cycle rags get a hold of one to find out. Mike

    Insurance Quote

I found this too when shopping for an FJR (still considering one if I can find one to test ride). I've heard it before and beleive it that when insurance companies see the "R" in a bike's name they assume it's a race-type bike, like a GSXR, FZR, R1, CBR-RR, and they jack the rates. I received...
