I'm interested too. In the PNW they should really help keep my feet dry in the rain! John

What slip-ons to get for Gen 2?

James K, I'd like some additional info on the Blue Flame Exh. that I haven't been able to find on their site. Do you know if they require repacking? Or, are they like Staintune and Remus exhausts with stainless baffles. Do you know of any sound files for comparison? Thanks, John

    Tank Bag for Rallying

Another bag system that has a large map pocket is the Tour Master Tri Bag. Although it's 8 1/2" wide at the front, the rear corners are rounded a bit so that the lower part is probably closer to 7". It would mean making a small corner fold at the bottom of an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper. It...

    Front End Stand

I was going to use my stand, like Mr. Bill's, to remove the front wheel. However, I found that mine interfered with the ABS sensor at the back of the left fork leg. I probably could have used it to just raise the front and have blocked the bike under the headers though. However, I wouldn't...

    Tank Bags

I've just bought a MotoPak GT on e-bay. this one's magnetic. I have an identical one, except it's a strap mount, on a Ducati MTS -- It's very well made and $69 delivered to my door. www.motopakluggage.com is their website but it's cheaper to get them through e-bay.

    Fieldsheer Cyclone 1-pc Suit

How's the sizing on the Cyclone: I'm 6' 2" tall 32"inseam 220# Also, is the suit pretty flexible? I tried an Aerostich Roadcrafter several years ago and it was like wearing cardboard. Thanks, John

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

I can now confirm that the Sumitomo 2P090K-SMHM connector from Eastern Beaver is identical to the windshield auto-retract connector. I just finished using it for the switched source to a PC8 for my handgrips with the heat troller mounted in the left switch housing. The +6" pos lead and a...

I hit a deer on Saturday

Amazing! Glad you came out of this one OK. I've never hit a deer, came close on a number of occasions. However, I did hit a cow once and didn't come out quite as well as you. Deer sure are unpredictable cusses. The only thing I've found that helps is air horns like the Stebil -- it usually...

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

You're correct, it's 2P090K-SMHM. I found a post -- don't remember where now, where a fellow ordered that part and reported that it was a perfect fit. So, I think I'm going to order a PC8 power distribution panel and a harness for the FJR with the proper connector for the switched source...

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

After doing several more Google searches, I found that Eastern Beaver sells the same Sumitomo .09 connector: part number: ZP090K-SMHM for $2.19. So you could use a new female end with just the +12v wired out to a switched relay.

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

I thought I might as well use the +12v switched lead from the windshield auto retract since I'm also installing heated grips with Heat Troller and a Powerlet in the same area. I'll just run it to the relay, which I'll mount where the solenoid was for the glovebox.

    Thanks to Members

I just want to say thanks to all members of the FJRForum who've contributed to the knowledge base. In the 10 days since I picked up my "new to me" 2007 FJR, I've been able to learn a lot about my bike and have greatly benefitted from the experience of other members: 1) in disabling the auto...

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

Crash Cash, Thanks for your timely response. I just got through further dismantling the dash area to the point where I could just get a mirror in there and see that the two black wires from the female connector dissapeared into a harness --- I thought, perhaps, the harness may have been just...

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

Yes, I've read that thread. However, the question I have is not answered in that long post. The last comment, "Yes, seems tied in really tightly. It can rock a little, but other than that it won't budge.", didn't definitively state how the female end was attached or if it was possible to remove...

    2007 Windshield retract electrical connector

I've researched everything I could find on the windshield auto-retract disable. Most of the information is for the 2005 and earlier editions. While I was able to locate and disconnect the male end of the plug, I want to remove the female end that is supposed to just have a loop wire (jumper)...

    06+ fuse block unused circuits?

In the right (outer) fuse box there appear to be two unused wired circuits. I'm wondering if there's any information on the acceptable load for each circuit and if anyone has used them to power their farkles. I'm getting ready to install some heated grips and heat troller, Stebel horn and a...

Heli Group Buy Is A Go!!!

Catfish, I tried PMing you yesterday but see that it's not logged in my sent messages box. So, put me down as a backup if the 18th order doesn't pay up. I'm ready to go. nwrider1
