    Bungie Buddies on the FJR

Has anyone ever tried using Bungie Buddies? Where did you put them? Are the side plastics or the cases sufficiently strong? Actually, is it even possible on the cases with the double wall construction? In case you don't know what I mean, they're like little eye bolts that you bolt onto a...

    Carrizo plain?

I stumbled my way down Soda Lake Road on a pristine borrowed FJR. I can't say I recomend it, unless you like long straight dirt roads.... although the surface was excellent as far as dirt roads go. Make sure you're gassed up before you get there. I was on fumes by the time I got to some fuel...

One bell & whistle left off '06 FJR

The voltage readout is getting scarce on the Garmin GPS's. I used to have a GPSIII+ which had the voltage display, and it was one of my favorite features. The GPSV that replaced it did not include voltage. Nor does the Quest that I have now. I don't think the streetpilot series does either...

MC Gear shops in Germany Recs?

How about the Louis FunShop at https://www.louis.de/_105a899997253a9d073ff...patch.php?ID=16https://www.louis.de/_105a899997253a9d073ff...patch.php?ID=16 Seriously though, you might just pickup the phone book and look for Motorrad and see what's nearby. I did that in Munich and it was kind of...

    GPS

Recalculation has it's plusses and minusses. I tend to use GPS mostly for pre-planning routes to take very specific roads...not necessarily the most direct roads. If I accidentally deviate from my pre-planned route for a short stretch, the last thing I want is a unit that just recalculates as...

    AutoCom Active 7

I skipped any sort of VOX and went to the PTT button option. I have a habit of talking to myself and singing and stuff. My riding buds don't need to hear that, really.

    State Farm vs Progressive

It's not just the 2 cc that's important. Insurance companies can use all sorts of info, like your own personal credit history/score, to come up with your rate.

Traffic Camera's in DC giving speeding tickets

how long before this becomes commonplace in the US as well? Hilarity ensues. https://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2.htm https://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2a.htm https://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2b.htm https://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2c.htm

...and the NY red-light tickets don't show the driver at all. All you get is a view of the car from behind'ish and a zoom in of the plate.

heated vests vs. heated jacket liners

These jackets run power through resistance wires which convert the energy into heat. I figure the higher power draw of Gerbings (more wattage) means that more heat is given off. If so, then the user would just compensate and turn down the setting on the controller a notch or two, at which...

    Voltmeter Install

That was one of my favorite features of my III+. But when it came time to replace it, I was dismayed to find that all the successors that I was considering had done away with that feature. There is no user selectable voltage field on the V or Quest. I haven't checked the Streetpilots.
