Another reason lane splitting needs to be legalized everywhere

Has anyone thought the guy edited the video just so it was shorter and to the point? Doesn't mean he did anything wrong at all. I know I personally may not post an extra 10 minutes of video before showing the good stuff if I was in his place. Personally I hate when people have an excellent 30...

    Pay It Forward

If I could cut off about 8 inches on my arms I might fit!

Anyone run across an update article on this? Curious as to what determination the police came to.

    CFO 2015 Registration Now Open

I'll have to talk with the wife on this. We had a blast at NAFO last year but we have a new little boy at home this year. :)

Another reason lane splitting needs to be legalized everywhere

I think the important lesson here is the value of on-board video. Can't argue with that! We can speculate on the circumstances all day and never get it right. Did the guy have any right to assault the rider and girlfriend? NO. Could the rider have done something differently to not provoke...

    Fork maintenance failure

Yes, you would think that the bushings would last longer, so something else is different. I guess would be the surface finish. Somehow the lower bushing is subjected to more abrasion in the Gen II design. As far as the effectiveness of the third bushing goes think about bending a piece of 1"...

    Fork maintenance failure

I think you're on the right track. If the inner fork tube stays perfectly rigid then the middle bushing doesn't do anything. Because there is a gap between the bushings and the mating sliding surface the inner fork tube would tilt (ever so slightly) in the outer and would only contact the...

    Fork maintenance failure

I actually assembled the first fork with three bushings before I checked play with the second one. I don't remember specifically checking for play with all three bushings so I can't really say how much the difference was. Second fork was dry as I was trying to check clearances and didn't...

    Audiovox cruise issues.

I'm not sure. I will have to look into it! Worth a check. The PO installed it and I don't know what little things he did that may be hidden inside.

    Audiovox cruise issues.

Yes, as a matter of face I believe it can. I left a slight bit of play to make sure the cruise didn't prevent the TBs from closing all the way. I'm pretty sure the connector is free to rotate around the shaft it's on. i"ll see if I can get in there and tighten it up. I would have thought it...

    Fork maintenance failure

Lol, I'm not reading it again to figure it out; I've since forgotten. You're thinking backwards. The lower bushing has to be expanded to fit over the inner fork tube and then the spring force of the bushing is what hold it on the fork tube. The middle and upper bushings are compressed as they...

    Audiovox cruise issues.

Good to know. I don't think that's exactly what my problem is as I know I'm pulling pretty straight. About the only way to improve it for me would to set up the daisy chain on a cam like the throttle cable. I did notice something today though. I was riding home and had the cruise set at 80...

Jayke, what did you finally do to fix it?

    Audiovox cruise issues.

I'll have to pull apart the switch housing and see how well it's sealed up. Thanks for the info! I know the back is siliconed but I do not know about the front as the PO installed it. The daisy chain has just enough slack in it that it will not pull on the throttle when the bike is off and...

fork seals leak in the cold?

I ended up rebuilding the forks. I needed to change the fluid anyway and I figured the lower bushings would be shot, and they were. Now I have clean fluid, good seals, and good bushings. :)

    Audiovox cruise issues.

I have two issues I'm trying to diagnose with my cruise. First is that one a two hour ride in the rain this weekend the cruise system ingested some water somewhere and disabled it. Green light would not turn on when I hit "on". Once it dried out, all was good. Are there particular...

Too Lazy to Remove HeliBars Triple Clamp and Riser on Gen 2

Considering that Heli doesn't make the triple clamps anymore, I would say there is definitely a market for them. I had to dig around for a while when I bought mine. I wanted the full clamps and not just the riser plate. Might ask a potential buyer if they want it on the bike, if not pull it...

I can't believe I just read this whole old thread, lol Informative, but it's impressive how many times someone will say the exact same thing over and over and over.
