    *shiver...* withdrawal sucks!!!

Doug, Hang in there man and don't even let yourself joke about that stuff (though I've been known to do it too). Try and live vicariously through all of us that you've helped so much with the ECU campaign (the dreaded "Altitude Surge"). We all owe you in a very big way. Lean on us because...

    Factory heated grip problem

If it's a factory setup and Y.E.S. doesn't cover it then I'd be giving Yamaha an earful. That should be on their dime for certain. If they don't (and your next mount is certainly going to be a Honda) then I agree with CAJW, the Dual Stars are an economic alternative. See an old post about...

Grease your rear brake lever pivot shaft.

That happened to me on a trip to the PNW about a month ago. It was after 3 three days of merciless rain. Some WD40 got me rolling again and some white lithium when I got home seems to have taken care of it. I'm not sure what you mean about "shaft was bone dry and very dirty inside the...

"Rich. Wanna go for a ride?"

Absolutely! OM, your reports are fantastic. I think it was yours that got me to head back down to southern Utah last weekend for UT-12, Bryce and Cedar Breaks (not so far from SLC but it sure was fun). For that I owe you a bunch of Anderson Valleys. Damn near soiled myself.

Hi Visabily clothing & the Police

I can't help but wonder what those Europeans are thinkin' when they suit up with all that protective gear...

    Strange Oil Levels

SkooterG covered it. Seems to happen with mine every time. It's the damnedest thing. I think his location has a lot to do with it.

Hi Visabily clothing & the Police

Eric, Seriously - if you're considering Hi-Viz equipment (which I thoroughly support), you may want to consider another vendor. See fading problems here. Good luck, -FjrVfr

    Cycleport Fading

As per the instructions. Cold water, gentle cycle in a front loading washer using high-efficiency detergent (He - required by all front loaders as far as I know), hang dry. I've always treated it afterwards with 303 Fabric Guard as Wayne recommends. It's hard for me to believe that washing is...

    MotoPort Group Buy

I have to add my $.02 I'm sorry if it comes across as bashing but I don't think I'd be a responsible forum member if I didn't bring this up. If you're considering the Hi-Viz option you need to seriously consider your riding habits and requirements. My Ultra II Hi-Viz is looking particularly...

    Cycleport Fading

In light of the group buy I thought I should post current pictures of the jacket. It's now been roughly 15 months and 19,000 miles (and about 4 washings/treatments with 303 Fabric Guard). I have to give it a thumbs down in terms of "colorfastness." Wayne suggested shoe dye and I'm afraid...

FJR deal gone down the drain...

Seriously, I'd talk to MamaYama. I had a similar thing happen in '85 with a Mitsubishi Starion. Gave them the check, they cashed it, sold the car to someone else. Said I had to wait till the check cleared to reimburse me. I called Mitsubishi (also in Cypress if I recall) and that same dealer...

    Cycleport Fading

An update from Wayne (read from the bottom up). Apparently washing == bad. I wonder what mine would look like now if I'd never washed it. Probably not Hi-Viz... Mark, I think your right about the washing causing the material to fade quicker. All our materials have a Teflon coating applied...

    Cycleport Fading

Thanks for all the replies. Toe - I have not contacted Wayne yet but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try. I thought I'd see if mine was an odd-ball case first.

    Cycleport Fading

I'm wondering if anyone other than myself (and FatNakedGuy - could this be a Utah thing?) has experienced extreme fading of their Cycleport (Motoport) gear. Like so many others I love the Ultra II with it's Keprotec material and excellent breathability but I'm wondering if there's any way to...

    Patching Roadsmart...anyone else have trouble?

I had sticky strings fail on me for the first time in about a dozen tries last month (twice). I figured it was because they were too old. An internal patch finally worked for me. Be sure to use a plug/patch type that protrudes through to the outside of the tire. Clicky.

Ladies, germs, odots and everything in between... Introducing....

Congratulations! Geeze, after those trip reports I thought you two were already Mr. & Mrs. If she's still willing to get hitched after ridin' all over creation with you on a Feej then you've definitely found the right lady. Best of luck! ps - next time I'm in town, beers at the Mohawk are on...

Cheap, easy helmet lock (theft deterent)

Fabulous! If you don't have gear strapped to the pillion, this works too and doesn't require the lock and extra key. (Gawd, did my bike ever look that new?!?)

    My two favorite bikes

Tru, Congratulations! I was so sad to hear of you leaving "the Fold" after you helped us all out with the surge problem. It's great to hear you're back. ps - get some help for that MBD...
