Moto Port - Cycle Port Racing Gloves

I bought them a month or two ago. They take some getting used to but the protection is unmatched. I can get them over the cuffs of my Ultra II jacket - it just takes a little extra effort. Overall, I'm happy with them.

2007 FJR - Front Breaks "Chatter" During Hard Stops

I've experienced this intermittently on my '06 since it was new. It happens maybe 1 stop in 5 and the braking doesn't have to be very heavy at all. I can't imagine it's the cooling holes/brake pads or it wouldn't be intermittent. Sure feels like ABS to me. Would love to find a solution.

    FJRF003.0: Ignition Failures on FJRs

Maybe we should add some questions to the poll: 11) Were you at a convenience store/gas station at the time? 12) Did the failure occur in Southwestern Colorado?

    Motoport Contact info

I bought gloves and a liner a few weeks ago. I've seen the new website give that "login" page before. I'm sure he's still with us.

    www.garmin.com garmin

I had a failure on a Zumo 550 cradle (poor audio jack connection) while on a cross country trip back in June. I called Garmin and they sent a new cradle to me in about 4 days. Shawn in customer service was very helpful and a pleasure to talk with. FWIW - the unit was about 2 months old at the...

    Another Ignition Failure

Wow. That's just creepy. It was at that dumpy hotel just north of the gas station/convenience store on the west side of I-25. You won't catch me riding through there again...

    Another Ignition Failure

Southeastern Colorado, eh? Mine was in Walsenburg and I was scared shirtless. Thought for sure my 4 week trip which I'd planned for months was finished. Thanks again to dcarver and toecutter for their help. You guys (as well as this forum) are the class act. C'mon Yamaha - this is where we...

    A NAFO Half-Ride, An Insurance-Related Update

Mike, Ouch! Glad you could still make NAFO and that the insurance company is playing nice. Those shots are phenomenal! Any chance you could post your route? If there's anyway it's in the cards - I hope you can get back on a Feejer soon. You've obviously got the heart for it.

    Motorcylcing DVD's

Ride Like a Pro is well worth the duckets. The World's Fastest Indian is fantastic even for those who don't give a lick about motorcycling. A few months ago a friend sent me a copy of Faster and Faster & Faster. I opened the box and thought "Great - a bunch of yahoos going around the track to...

    Sockets storage in your workshop

I have the metal and plastic from Craftsman. Definitely go with the plastic - they're much easier to use. I've even seen them at Harbor Freight where I'm sure they're cheaper.

Miatas at the Gap this weekend

Ouch, Ray! I hope she'll be all right soon (and the wife, too) :) You're right about those Miata drivers...

    Emergency tool kit

What Niehart said. If not a switch at least the wire nuts.

    (Split) Motoport or Aerostich?

I've owned a 2 piece Roadcrafter for about 10 years now and I love it. The pants were killing me on warm days so I thought I'd try the stretch kevlar "Police" pants from Motoport. Big mistake. Now I'm into Wayne for pants, a jacket, liner and gloves (on the way). I don't see myself wearing...

Is there such a thing as a bolt thief?

A couple of times on long trips I've ridden out with Gaurald's rack and then shipped it back along with stuff I don't think I'll need to cross the plains. This last trip I forgot to bring the original bolts. Ace had some that fit and looked just fine. sin_loki is correct, go stainless and I'd...

    Southampton, NY, East End Motorsports

I was on a cross country trip and had a tire shipped to a friend on Eastern Long Island. I called East End Motorsports and they said they would only mount it if it was supplied by "Drag Specialties" or one other that I can't remember (which mine was). This was "for my safety" since there is...

    FJRF003.0: Ignition Failures on FJRs

    1) 2006 2) 22,250 miles 3) Failed as I pulled into a hotel for the night (how's that for luck?) 4) Type of failure: Brown wire fell off. Looked exactly like others with solder still on the end of the wire. 5) I've got a toggle switch on there now. Not sure I'll trust another Yamaha switch...

    FJR Assistance Directory Address

I'm on a cross country trip right now but wanted to express my thanks to dcarver, toecutter and of course gypsy for the FJR Assistance List. Last Sunday I experienced the dreaded ignition failure (brown wire loose with solder ball still attached) in a tiny town in southwest Colorado. After two...

    Great Movie Quotes. I'll start.

You guys named some great movies but missed some of the best quotes. "You can't fight in here. This is the war room!" "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in...

    Throttlemeister Owners

I have the "regulars" that I stole from my VFR. Never had an issue with engaging it on or with head shake. FjrVfr

Dropped my keys, where could they be?!

I'm with Bob. It's a relief to know I'm not the only one. Compressed air sounds like the way to go. If that's not available you might consider a garden hose - just keep clear of that sewer drain. Good luck.
