    Bleeding ABS

I want to bleed the brakes on my 06 FJR. It has ABS. The bleeding is no problem, but I want to cycle the ABS system to get all the old fluid out. Can someone tell me where the test connectors that are used to activate the system are? Which pins do I need to short to cause the system to cycle? I...

Most Nervous Day for the FJR Yet

I have one of these carriers that I use to carry a DR 350 dual purpose bike. One day the tiedowns slipped as I was pulling onto the highway. I was going five or ten miles per hour when the bike fell off the carrier. The damage wasn't too bad, but things could have been real bad if I was going 50...

Another newbie question: riding position !

I have a bad disk in my lower back. I find that a slightly leaned forward riding position is actually more comfortable than sitting upright. On some days it is a little difficult to get my leg over the seat, but once in the saddle I am fine.

    Tire size

A Triumph I had had 190s when I bought it. I changed to 180s when the tires wore out & liked the change. The bike turned into corners easier and felt better overall. If the bike is designed for 180s I wouldn't change.

    Lubing my G2 throttle tube

The G2 throttle tube I ordered the other day just arrived. When I install it should I use any sort of lubricant under it, or just slide it onto the handlebar dry?. I know the OEM nylon tube is sort of self lubricating, but will the aluminum G2 tube start to get stiff after a while without lubricant?

    Gap on Iridum Plugs

I am getting ready to install a set of Iridium plugs on my 06. Are the plugs pre-gapped as they come out of the box, or do I need to gap them? If so, do I just use the standard gap value? Thanks Bruce

Best Place To Connect to Battery

Wow Rob. What a beautiful set of pictures. Thank you. When you took the bolt out of the terminal did you need to hold the nut it goes into in place to get it started again. I have had this problem on other bikes. Thanks again Bruce

Best Place To Connect to Battery

I started to connect the cable for my BatteryTender to the battery on my 06. The positive terminal looks like it is a little hard to get to. Does everyone connect directly to the battery, or is there another place I can tap into that is a direct connection to the battery? Bruce

    Removing battery cover

I wanted to take the panel over the battery on my 06 off. I am not sure how to get the little plastic pop rivet attachment off. Do I just pry on it and it pops out? I started to do that and it seemed like the plastic of the panel was going to crack before it popped out. Bruce

    Oil for final drive

Hi I am new here. I just picked up a 2006 FJR. Based on the 75 miles I have on it so far I am impressed. I have a quick question about oil for my final drive. I have searched but can't seem to find any postings concerning final drive oil. The manual only says to use the Yamaha oil. It says...
