    O.k. you 08 owners...

I've got a black one too. All of my bikes have been black. It is the fastest color after all! Previous advice of using a car wash is first and you should keep the bike waxed. I use Nu-finish also. But, I don't wash that often because I use a spray called "Plexus." Great stuff. Cleans...

back in black almost last but nit least

Lago, Break in on these FJRs is tough! In fact, it's probably the hardest of any bike I've owned. Reason being, I can't keep it off of 75 to 80 mph. This baby loves to run and I love to run it. I do drive it to work several times a week and run up and down the gears just to keep the RPM at...

Thanks Mack, We had a nice spirited sunset ride last night. This bike is a blast, but I'm not telling you anything new am I? Keith

    Two-up riding

Olie, I absolutely love it! I don't think I've ever had as much fun on a motorcycle before. The wife hasn't been on it yet, so I have nothing that I can report about 2-up riding. I hope to take her for a spin soon, but she hasn't been able to catch me to jump on yet. Obviously, it is taking...

    Enough Talk

Got about 65 miles on in a quick run down a road with some high speed sweepers in Kentucky and West Virginia after work today. All I can say is - "Holy Sh*t! What a freakin' machine!" Nope, don't need to say anything else. My wife asked how was the ride and all I could do was smile. I can't...

    FJR or RT 1200 msrp?

That is exactly why I sold my K1200LT and now own a beautiful FJR. Keith

    Enough Talk

We are very grateful for your prayers, please keep them coming. I had a choice this afternoon when I got home from work...mow the yard or ride. Well, before I could get home, it started storming and hasn't stopped since. The bad news, I didn't get to ride. THe good news, I didn't have to...

    OK, silly question...

You know, there wasn't a GPS window, but with my handy jig saw, there now is. No more problems with plugging up a GPS in the box. If anyone needs me to cut a "window" in their's I'll be happy too. Keith

    OK, silly question...

But there is no way to mount the GPS and plug it into the power outlet and close the lid? If I understand what you are saying, I have to put the GPS in the box and just pull it out periodically to look at it? Hmmm....guess the next question will be on how to hardwire it. Keith

    OK, silly question...

If I plug a GPS or some other device into the power outlet in the glove box do I have to ride with the lid open? I can't find a slot that a cord would slide into to allow the top to close. Maybe it's obvious. The wife says I can't find anything until she points it out to me, but I'm sure not...

    FJR or RT 1200 msrp?

You absolutely you do not have to pay MSRP. There are too many dealers needing the business and discounting the bikes. Just got a new 08 and with taxes, dealer prep (assembly), tax, tag & title, it was several hundred dollars below MSRP. Keep shopping and go for the FJR. I'm a former BMW...

I appreciate all of the good wishes. I can tell you now, with just the few miles that I have put on it, we are going to have a blast. The trip to Philly was great! Especially seeing my niece graduate from HS. Two years ago they didn't have the medicine that would have allowed her to fight the...

    Enough Talk

Thanks much! I have an 18 year old niece with cancer who is graduating from high school on Friday. We're very lucky she's still here to do that. She's been a fighter and we're praying she continues to make great progress. Keith

    Enough Talk

My new '08 is now part of the family. What a bike. I think we are going to become great friends. What a beauty! Guess I just can't say enough about it, but since I'm talking to you folks...not much need to say more. Can't wait to put some real time in the saddle. Unfortunately, I have to...

    Two-up riding

blujag, Did you mail in your seat or did you do a ride in. I really believe what everyone says about needing a new seat, but there is no way I can ride in to get one made. My new FJR should be in on Thursday afternoon. I can't wait. I've gone a week without a bike and I'm having withdrawls...

    FJR Today

J, Don't have my FJR yet, expecting it Thursday, but I am an experienced rider...I would think the FJR is a bit much for a first bike. I have no idea how well your brother did in the training, but not everyone who passes it is qualified to be on the road with a bike, much less one with 145...

    Two-up riding

Olie, I am coming off of a K1200LT. Great bike! But there are mechanical issues that prompt the owner to either be mechanically inclined or live closer to a dealer than I currently do - 4 hours away. From a riders perspective, your wife would love the LT. It is a great travel bike and...

    FJR Comparisons

Don't know if anyone saw Cycle World, got my issue today. They named the Concours as the top Sport Tourer. That surprised me, especially with some of the other things I've read here and other locations. This is the first time I've seen the Kawi beat the FJR in anything. IN an old issue of...

    FJR Comparisons

I read one of the articles from BramFrank's post above. It was a 5 bike comparison and it looked like they really did have to look hard to find good things to say about the Connie. A great engine just isn't enough. THe bike finished next to last in the comparison. And, of course, the FJR was...
