    Gerbing's Heat-troller Fix

Get some solder wick to help remove the pins after they've been cut from the component. Another thing I've done is to file down the solder point with a file to it's ultra fine.

    Do not buy from Motorcyclecloseouts

This helmet aging thing will in some race orgs, limit the helmet's use. Some of the race orgs put a 5 year limit on helmets. I bought a 2nd Shoei x11 closeout as the helmet fits me just right. I knew it would have limited race tech inspection in a few years. But, this is a whole heck cheaper...

    Considering the Sears Travel Trunk

The mold part that affected me was the slot where it slides on to the Givi mount point. I've tossed them out and don't have any pictures. And I can say I didn't overload it. Just use it for typical junk, visor spray, hat, and small stuff like that. I can't say for sure it was or wasn't the...

    Considering the Sears Travel Trunk

I think the Whitney one is a POS. I've gone through a number of them. I'm using the Givi mount plate and while it functions nice, they have not withstood usage. The bottom mold snaps off and the box is no longer solid to the mount plate. After going through a few of these, I just won't buy on...

    Front fork stand

Thanks wfooshee. Yeah, I don't know what's in there either. Does anyone have a lower triple thats crapped out that could be used as an experiment? Edit: the hole in the bottom of the triple tree stem is 17mm.

    Front fork stand

I did a few searches but they didn't yield any results for this. I have a front fork stand for a 06 R6 that has a pin that goes in to the lower triple tree stem. The only reason I can think Yamaha didn't do this on the FJR was to reduce vibration on the larger bike. Has anyone looked in to...

    Front End Stand

I used the center stand and used jack stands on the frame sliders on my 07. The bike was very stable while the forks were out for servicing. Cost... ~$50 - Take the wife out to dinner for putting the stands in place while I pushed down on the Givi rack. :)

Test Ride Nightmare!! Could use some advice please...

Just remember about sales tax. They will try and charge for full tax but if there is a delta due to some mitigation/litigation, the sales tax on the original amount may not be applicable. As an example, if you trade a bike in, you would only pay the sales tax on the delta of the trade in and...

    Heated Grips

Dual Star But make sure you wrap some something around the G2 tube. I didn't initially and the roughness of the G2 tube rubbed through the grip. Once I wrapped it, it's been great since. Dual-star has heat shrink tube that I used on both sides to have the heat come up better through the grip...
