    Possible move to a FJR

Roy, Where in the San Franciso area are you from? Gilroy, here. Quite a few FJR riders in this neck of the woods. I just can't seem to find enough time to ride with these great bunch of guys. I love my FJR, best bike I have ever owned out of over 25. Try and make the Clan get together in...

    need your help with wife

Again not knowing your entire situation, if you have a stressful job, work a lot of hours, take your family and work responsibilities serious you need a healthy outlet. Life is short and the time I have spent riding adds so much to the quality of my life. I have MS and enjoy every day that I...

    FJR1300A or FJR1300AE?

Never ridden an AE but love my 04 FJR, have owned numerous BMW in the past and even the old connie. Councours was great bang for the buck and I am sure that the new model is a very nice bike but for me the FJR just comes together so well for me. The handling, speed, shifting, comfort and just...

    Suspension recommendations

My rear shock on my 05 is bottoming out now after 22,000 miles. I have done a lot of reading on this forum but still have some questions. To make it simple, what would you choose a Pense or what? I am going to have a suspension shop do the install and set up so that I get it right. Is it...

    New Penske Shock Ride Repoort

I have a 05 with 22,000 miles and I can really feel the back shock now. Need a new rear shock and doing research and like your write up, but 1200 smackaroos is a lot. What is the difference between the 800 and 1200 shock? I will probably have to have a suspension guy do the install since my...

Is a new 06 worth $4k more than an 05 with low milage

I love my 05 and have never had a heat problem. My 25000 miles have been pure heaven and I have no desire to buy an 07. Will start looking in 2010 or 2011 for its replacement if needed. If you are in it for the long ternm go for the 07 if you upgrade a lot go with the 05. Roger

A ride down memory lane ...one year with the FJR

Realy impressed with your pictures in the snow. I go to Lake Tahoe a lot in the snow and know these roads well. But.... hasn't anyone told you not to ride in the snow??? Roger in Sunny California

    FJR LEO magnet?

In Northern Calif where I do most of my riding, I view the "bags" as a sign to cops that I am not a super sport rider. There are a ton of 1 litre bikes on most of the roads I ride and I believe the cops watch them a little closer that say a goldwing or another type of bike that has bags...

8/5 Free Day want to meet at Alices??

Anyone, My wife let me out of her uncles 80th birthday gathering. (She finally gave in when she realized that there would be no beer :( and that was inhumane and let me slide.) Will be going up to Alices in the Santa Cruz Mtns and be there about 10 to 10:30 I always park on the store side...

Crashed FJR & "God really loves me"

I think your wife was messing with your pain pills. Keep her on them until you get the red FJR home. Glad you weren't hurt seriously. For us OLD GUYS RULE group that would only be a week in bed. Roger OLD GUYS RULE

Almost 20000 miles and feels broken in

Been riding my bike the last few weekends and but over 2200 miles on it. Just short of 19000 miles and this 05 feels like it is just broken in. Super smooth, gears are shifting like greased and polished lightning. Seems like everything has meshed together over the last...

    Would you ABS again?

+1 on ABS. Been riding for over 40 years and the brakes just keep getting better and better. The ABS on my 05 is the best braking system I have ever had on a motorcycle. Would not buy a bike like the FJR without it. Wish my 20 year old son's SV650 had ABS, I would sleep better. RC OLD GUYS RULE

5 over.... ridiculous.. I don't know how things are where you live but in California if you are only 5 over you would get run over even 10 over on some fwy would get you run over. Can't believe just 10 over.... and would not give you a break when you are on a bike. Wow. Roger

Looking for an Essay about Bike being stolen

Looking for a past post (yes I have done a ton of searches) that was a very well written essay about a rider resting at a stop and sees this guy with his overweight wife and kids looking at his bike. He writes a very entertaining piece about how this guy steals his bike in his mind. Would love...
