engine mount not centered on the frame

Ionbeam, that brings up a question in my mind: how much (in lb-ft) of an adjustment does one need to make when using anti-seize or for that matter lubed threads? Instead of going into a whole table or a set of equations is there simply a rule of maybe 10% or 20% less?

    Battery Tender Cap?

How about using this instead of a cap. This is made by Battery Tender and can be had for $15 on Amazon?

Replacing headlamp bulbs on Gen III?

Anyone have before and after comparisons?

    Big Farkles Completed

I have those knuckle guards on my '13. They're very effective mainly for the back of the hands. I use them in conjunction with the Yami touring shield. Nice looking bike. I second the thought of adding the radiator guard. Several choices available. I went with the Cox.

How does a Yamaha dealer fix flats?

The 7 inch is for smaller tires i.e. cars, motorcycles, scooters. The 14-inch would be used for pickup trucks etc. When repairing the flat, you put force the string in twist, and pull it out just enough for the tool to clear the tire surface and then cut. My understanding it that the little bit...

How does a Yamaha dealer fix flats?

I use the Nealey Tire Repair strings. Tried several others and the Tire plugger kits to no avail. The Sticky strings are the way to go. Carry one of these in each bike and my car. Plugged the car tire with one of these a 1.5 years back and still holding without leaks. For pumps, again I've...

TireGard TPMS + 90 deg valve stems

Can they be mounted at 0/180 degrees and still have the stem usable to filling air?

TireGard TPMS + 90 deg valve stems

I have a Doran 360m setup that I'll be installing. I weighed the 90 degree metal stem and the sensor and they weighed in at 31 grams. I will have to place the clip on weight (that's already on wheel) on the opposite side and then additional stick on weights as needed. I haven't decided which...

    How much for a 2014 FJR-A?

Shop around you i.e. AR, TN, LA and get the best deal and work it from there. Also, there is the option of purchasing from D&H who seem to be a couple G's below MSRP.

    Help me choose please

If you're one to fly to another state and ride back (weather may not be conducive at the moment) then D&H Cycles will be your best bet for Service/Price. I don't know if they have any leftover '13's but you may want to shop around and see if a local dealer is willing to come close.

GEN3 battery access made easier !

Okay, I retract my statement then. I now clearly see the point made.

GEN3 battery access made easier !

I beg to differ. I don't really think it's a design defect but rather a poorly designed access panel to the battery. They've made enhancements to the design now which btw gives us a couple of options. I choose to update my design with a dremmel tool.

    wheel balance

Oh yes, I got rid of the cheap tape on the stick-ons and used 3M. I knew those cheap double stick tape pieces wouldn't do squat.

    wheel balance

Well stated on the tire balancing statement Fred! BTW, I'm planning to install the DORAN 360M TPMS on my Feejer and will be using the OEM tires for now. I'll be replacing the rubber valve stems with the supplied metal 90 degree stems and weighing those along with the TPMS sensors come in at...

    Bike Drop/Sliders

RaYzerman19, I'm very interested in your plan to mount sliders/blocks to the cages to (hopefully) minimize the chances of the bike capsizing. That's been my fear from the get go with the cages pivot point.

Dash Doesn't Show Lower than 16 Deg F for Ambient Temp?

The owner's manual states the same for my Gen III (2013 model). So no changes. "...display shows the ambient temperature from 16°F to 122°F in 1°F increments"

    Cold Weather Riding Boots! Recommendations?

I think good riding boots, i.e. Alpinestars (such as these ) and wool socks will do the trick.

    FJR1300A 2013 or FJR1300A 2014

The '13 also has a painted fender except it's a darker shade than the rest and a matte finish. In fact, I think it matches the beak nicely and I (probably in the minority) really like the darker fender. Oh and the fuel tank trim is the same color as the fuel tank (unlike the '14's that have the...
