    I need new summer gloves

I've been using the previous version to thsee: https://www.motorcycl...r_3_gloves.html when they were on close out (the prior version) got them for about 35 bucks. Cortech makes a great product, you really can't go wrong.

    Zumo 665 Routes

Just to clarify for those not aware. Tom mentions Mapsource, that's what BaseCamp was before it became BaseCamp. It should not be confused with MapQuest, that's an online tool very similar to google maps.

    Zumo 665 Routes

This is actually a common problem, not with Mr Zumo only. Even creating a route in MapQuest will get changed by the GPS. That's the Gps' job, to create a route. The only thing I've found is the freely available route creation thing from Garmin, it's called BaseCamp. If you search for that name...

    Tiger Woods visits Ireland............

This is even funnier since Rory kicked some serious butt at the PGA :) I'm not sure how... but it's funnier to me :)

    I am back - and I have a story

Sorry, don't mean to imply the horsepower has anything to do with it, other than to point out a bike with that kind of speed will have exceptionally powerful brakes, it has to, to slow it down. Well I had BT023GT tires on mine and there's just no way in the world the ABS was going to allow it...

    I am back - and I have a story

My 08, the ABS would kick in long before the 650 lb monster came close to doing a stoppie. Maybe your ABS is different, but I highly doubt it. Maybe in dreams the back tire of a 650 lb bike with ABS is coming off the ground... not in reality. And the MSF does recommend "covering the controls"...

    I am back - and I have a story

Guys, integrated brakes and linked brakes don't give you more stopping power, they simply apply the other in case you forget to. That's why they were developed, for inexperienced riders who didn't use both brakes as they should. Basically, if you simply used both brakes, as you should, there's...

    I am back - and I have a story

concur with Phroenips on this one. Anytime we're stopping in an emergency, both brakes (and all 4 fingers on the front) is our full stopping power, without either tire locked up. We teach that in the MSF classes and anytime someone is too heavy on the rear brake and too light on the front we...

    Interesting new Honda bike

That's a very important distinction. We are mostly cruisers, loud, bar to bar hopping. The Euros? not at all, completely diff culture. So it's obvious why we don't see many bikes like this Honda here... there's just no market. We're in a minority here guys. Let's sue for discrimination! ;)

Bit of a change for me

Look, not that there's anything wrong with that! but some guys consider that very serious tail :dribble:

Applying Risk Management Principles to M.C. Riding

haha great article James, really enjoyed that. Thoughtful and clear. Although, lets face it... scooter chick dusted you, I'm not sure what that says ;)

Who says Harley riders are uptight?

I never said they were uptight... I said they were stupid...

    ABS is erratic

That's interesting information. Another aspect of this is the physical capability of the tires right? I mean, to use an extreme example, crappy hard tires like something an OEM might use vs high performance track tires? The traction difference between these would be extreme, but in this...

    ABS is erratic

hahaha good point. I was tempted to say something really nasty, but let's face it... jerks will be jerks. It ain't gonna change.

    Repainting wheels?

You might consider having them powder coated. Have done that before and they turned out pretty well. You'd have to get new wheel bearings as the rims have to be completely naked to do this. But they do look beautiful when done :)

Thought I was going to dump it this morning

I LOVE cats! They are AWESOME creatures... they are very independent, and take joy in saying **** You to those that don't like them :) how cool is that? ;) but they get killed on the road regularly, love em or hate em. that'll never change.

    Sad although,...

Don't think it indicates if he was a moto-cop? I was looking for that because he was a cop. If he wasn't, then really the being a cop part is irrelevant, if he was, he should have known better imho. While it's definitely sad, and tragic for his friends and family... any motorcyclist should be...
