    How I Up-Chucked for 1,020 Twisty Miles

Thanks to all you guys for coming out to the rally - and for celebrating my birthday. Thanks to the folks who brought beer and cigars and thanks for making it out alive. George set up a great route and I felt even more akin to this rally not just because of my birthday - but because of this...

    RTE - Pinks in Hollywood

Thanks to Dean for putting the thing together good to see you at the ride in. Didn't know you were a band dad, too. Tell you how bad I am - my oldest daughter (trombone) graduated last year (with an undefeated marching season, by the way) and my youngest who was in guard last year - is NOT in...

    First Gear TPG gear report

Mark - I have a Killi and this thing kills the killi, so to speak. However I'm not as sold on the pants as the air pants that I typically wear with my killi - have the top zipper allowing me to get to my wallet and are easier to get over the boots because they zip all the way up. BUT - I have...

    First Gear TPG gear report

First Gear TPG Impressions Finally have a few miles under my new First Gear Rainier Riding Gear and can post something a little more detailed than first impressions. For the record – I am testing this gear for Mark Kincart and Tucker Rocky – so though I’m not affiliated with them – I am an...

    Iron Liver Rally

NO FREEKIN' WAY. We all recieved outside routing help from GZ as admitted in your first post ie "top shelf" route. Bill was disqualified for asking for a Coors Lite - mid competition GZ was disqualified on so many counts (staring at and then telling us to "get a load of her" and then pointing...

    Iron Liver Rally

Yep I believe I scored a Cirrhosis 10 easily by the first 2 hours. It was when I dived in for the second arm band bonus - adding an additional 5 bonii opportunities that I bit off a tad more than intended and ended up time barred at 2 PM. There I was with 1 bonus ticket left reducing my...

Stone Brewing Co 11th Anniv Party

Let's see - I think everyone scored something for free. GZ caged some free onion rings - but at my house later that evening he didn't remember standing in line for the second set (which he also scored for free). Gunny - scored a few free glasses of dark liquid - by faking the "i'm standing...

    Aerostich Competitor?

only pictures I know of were drawn and in the hands of the Tucker Rocky representative. Take my word for it -- they look good - you'll see them in September, unless I get a set before hand and tease you with some pictures.

    Aerostich Competitor?

Rev It stuff is very nice - and VERY pricey. If I were in the market for a new riding suit (and I'm not because I just one a free jacket/pants/gloves/helmet at a RTE last weekend - ) I would wait for the new First Gear stuff due in September. I have seen the prototype drawings and it looks...

    Caption contest (again)

1.. Dammit - I know I saw a clean part in there somewhere. 2. betcha I can finish this beer before Jorge can find a spark plug 3. Hurry up George - the Pizza will be ready to pick up in 10 minutes 4. You probably wouldn't fall down so often on that dirt road - if your tire wasn't as bald...

    Cleaner for Exhaust Pipe

if it is on chrome - I've used a razor blade to scrape off. Never scratched a pipe with it. I don't think I would use it on aluminum though or rough pipes.

Picked up my 07 FJR yesterday and have a couple of questions

never heard a noise like that - As for the seat. It will never be mistaken for a Russel or Meyer or even a Corbin. However, it does seem to break in a bit. I only have 16 or 17k on my bike, but after the first couple of thousand it started to feel "adequate". I have added a beaded seat...

    Another Newbie Question

As turboDave said - go to the IBA website naked girls dancing on LD Bikes and read the words of wisdom. Can you do it - sure you can. Is it a smart thing? That depends on you. Are your friends up to it? Have they done it before? Do they ride the same speed and skill level as you? Can you...

MISSFIRE ON 06A NOW A MAJOR PROBLEM CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?

I had the exact same problem - stalling or cutting out from a stop. Didn't much matter if warm or not. I fixed it with the following: 1. Adjusted idle speed to 1100 rpm 2. Throttle body sync - I will guarantee you that most any shop when looking at throttle bodies syncronization will tell...

    Are all 2006's ABS?

prices seems a bit high for a used bike - as for heat -- the FJR is cooler than your ST as for vibration - the GL is definitely smoother than the FJR - the ST is marginally smoother than the FJR. I think there is a little more vibration in the foot pegs and handle bars, but nothing...

    Your Extreme Temps

going to assume you meant riding through - so last summer while riding to WFO in the central valley it was 118 on my thermometer. got a burn on my leg to prove it (yes - the '06 has managed the heat, but at 118 - there is a LOT of heat to manage. Been through Death Valley in the summer a...

    2007 Stumbling on acceleration

some suggestions 1. what is the idle rpm? adjust as necessary 2. do a throttle body sync - probably not the problem, but probably wont hurt, either 3. someone suggest riding with key in the tank - - good idea to see if there is vacuum issue if dealer can't find it - I would lift the tank...

    Custom molded earplugs

I recently purchased a set from "the earplug company" - I had molds done at a local audiologist - sent them off and told them red for right ear and green for left and made a point of telling them that the molds were protruding from my ear a bit and that I had a tight helmet. They arrived in a...
