    Can these wheels be fixed

google a search on rim repair. There are some companies out there that can fix rims. Not sure if it is cost effective or not - but it is doable. That picture doesn't look like they are damaged sufficiently to trash them - but I'm no expert. You could always use them for snow tires or something?

Has anyone received a recall notice

My dealer called me a week ago and told me that there had been a recall. I have not recieved anything in the mail. Said he would call me again after the ordered part arrived. I called them yesterday to schedule an appt. for new tires and they said that the part arrived. I'll be getting the...

Now accepting nominations for Farkle fo the Year!!!

As promised - Farkle of the Year shoo in Z's half windshield modification and support system (he refused to wash the damned thing and the only way he could actually read a particular highway marking was to look THROUGH the windshield - resulting in ths modification ) or - maybe it was a...

    WFO Room

wow - that is strange - because last week they quoted on ly 159 or 169 rooms. there are motels sort of near there, but the rest of Reno is either downtown (only a mile or two away) or in Sparks - also only a mile or so away. get rooms soon - something else must be hitting town. Peppermill...

Installed Givi 46 on an '06 today

took all of about 20 minutes to install the Give 46 top case and rack today. got home and package arrived from Givi (via order from University Motors --- GREAT folks, by the way). Rack fits great - looks ok (like a givi rack, eh?) and case mounts up easily. Only hassle was installing the back...

    WFO-5 Go-Karts and Thrill Ride info-request

I'm definitely in for the slick track competition. I might even have a free pass for the giant swing - if it hasn't expired.

06 mileage after Barbarian jumper mod

don't think that NV doesn't oxygenate their fuel. From something like October through May or so - Reno and Carson City are required to use oxygenated fuels due to air pollution. I think Vegas has to always use them. That said - most of the smaller stations are going to get deliveries off the...

Update - Doug Hines 2006 Handlebar Risers

the big problem I see with these handlebar risers is this: Once they are installed.... it doesn't seem like the bikes ever go for rides any more. or once installed -- the riders never come back and tell us how they were. what gives?

Saturday morning ride & brunch 7/8

well - I would be in except for 2 things. I've got to ride to Ely, NV for White Pine Fever - rally - and.... I'd have to skip lunch anyway as I work at Barona and eat there every day of the week. Too much like going to work.

is there a Yamaha tuning fork stick on emblem?

yes - but NOT a decal. I want a badge or button or whatever you call it. I found one on the net - a guy makes them, but they are 2" in diameter and he wants $22.00 for one. That is a bit steep

is there a Yamaha tuning fork stick on emblem?

I've ridden BMW's for several years. One thing cool (i think) that beemer shops offer are stick on BMW emblems (Roundel). They are not cheesy decals - but are nice sort of buttons that go great on the back of a helmet. 8 out of 10 BMW riders will have one on their helmet somewhere. I took...

    So long new 2006 FJR!

As i stated earlier - the TBS made a great deal of difference. didn't eliminate the abruptness, but smoothed it out. Fixed the stall, too. One thing that I would venture is that what the factory or your shop thinks of Throttle Bodies and "within spec" is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. What do you all...

    Heat Resistant Wire Loom

Go to Napa autoparts - they will have to order it - The problem is that it comes in a box that has about 100' or so of it.

    So long new 2006 FJR!

Before I would sell the bike - I would do at least one more thing - you did the barbarian and the spring - did you do a TBS? I found the bike a little twitchy in 1st gear corners - at least relative to previous bikes. Adjusting the idle and doing a tbs - along with the barbarian seems to have...

    best headlight modulator

headlight modulators are one of the reasons that I don't think people give a crap about motorcycles. anectdotal experience, but these are my examples: headlight modulators work - people see you better. I believe they see you better AND.... for a second they think you are a cop. This is why I...

    SuperBrace Update for '06

Went for the second fitting with the nice folks at SuperBrace in Huntington Beach. They had a little grinding to do, but now have an accurate fit for the '06 model. I should get a final version within 2 weeks - anodized black model. Looks like the '05 wont fit the '06, but the '06 will fit...
