How about some BBQ in Texas?

I know that Hard 8 will FedEx some BBQ up north!

How about some BBQ in Texas?

Not sure where Austin came from, never proposed that as a destination since I originally proposed the Stephenville location of Hard 8 but I cannot go this weekend, we are getting ready to leave the next day for a week out in the RV. Usually too many las minute things to get packed or finished...

    Gen 3 or 4?

I have not noticed an issue and I have to say, having that top gear (6th) is a nice change. On my previous 2015, I was always thinking I needed to shift just one more time! And to echo others, the lights are great. I found two 2019s when I was looking, both good prices and pretty low mileage on...

    Tracer 9 back to FJR

I am sure there are folks who will love the Tracer, but it just wasn't for me. The FJR is far more comfortable, as well as powerful and smooth riding. Can't go wrong. Now, it it only weighed what the Tracer did... ;)

    Top box induced handlebar wobble

I would 2nd the opinion on tapered bearings. The Honda ST1100 had similar issues with head shake. Vicious at leaving-the-highway speeds. Completely fixed, top box or not, with a change in bearings.

How about some BBQ in Texas?

If we are going to ride that far, I would vote for visiting Lockhart! Read this one, good review: https://bbqrevolt.com/best-bbq/lockhart/

How about some BBQ in Texas?

A few of us local to the DFW are met for breakfast yesterday in Hurst. How about we go slightly farther for some good BBQ down in Stephenville? Not too far from the Dallas area or San Antonio, etc. Hard 8 is always a good choice. If you are interested in heading there for a meet up, reply to...

Breakfast in NRH for local DFW are riders (or anyone else who wants to come along!)

A few of us are going to meet for breakfast in Hurst, at Bacon's Bistro & Cafe. Saturday 1st Oct They are located: 714 Grapevine Hwy, Hurst, TX 76054 (also known as Highway 26). See you there. I will be on a 2019, gray FJR1300A if anyone is wondering! Not the one below. And I will be wearing a...

Fuse block from Japan, Eastern Beaver PC-8 install

I would go with the one they made for me. It all fit perfectly, with one caveat. The PC-8 block itself can only be turned one way under the seat in order for the trigger wire to the rear license plate light will reach, as of today. They told me, based on my comments, they would make that one...

    FJR1300 top speed?

Well, I can't speak for *your* FJR but mine looks fast, even when stopped! 2MPH or otherwise!

    Seat Confusion

Corbins are known for being less cushy and more stiff, if that is the right way to put it. I have used them before on my Honda ST bikes and liked them. Each of the various after market seat companies have different reputations. Some are wider, some are softer and some are just too tall for me!

    FJR1300 top speed?

I have noticed over the years that motorcycle speedos are never exact, at least not compared to a GPS. They must think if they indicate 75 and we are really doing 72 or 73, somehow that is safer. One thing I am certain I have noticed is that the faster you go the wider the spread between...

    FJR1300 top speed?

Hit 142 once, for at least one or two seconds before letting off. It was a long gentle downhill slope, surely with a tail wind in 'nowheresville' Wyoming. Scary enough...

    Seat Confusion

Definitely a Corbin seat. Stock is two piece. I found my previous FJR seat none too comfortable and had it rebuilt (and covered with a different material) by Laam. The seat was good but was a little unhappy with the passenger as it didn't quite fit right. Not too big a deal but definitely more...

Fuse block from Japan, Eastern Beaver PC-8 install

Agreed. Used to call that wire loom when I was selling large home theater systems! I use it now for all the wiring behind my stereo and TV. Had not thought to use it on the bike. Good idea.

Fuse block from Japan, Eastern Beaver PC-8 install

You order based on your model. So if you are on an FJR, you will get a long set of power cables in the harness that will reach the battery, way up front! And the newly designed rig will also provide a way to plug between the read cable going to the license plate light as a trigger. Worked great.

Fuse block from Japan, Eastern Beaver PC-8 install

they make great stuff. I have used them on past FJRs as well as ST1300s when I had them.

Fuse block from Japan, Eastern Beaver PC-8 install

The ones from Eastern Beaver are pretty heavily shielded anyway. But I agree, other 'stuff' could benefit from that tactic. I could not get my direct wiring for the radar detector to work at all so resorted to using the 12volt plug. Now, if I wanted to direct wore it, I see I would have to...
