    Happy Holidays to all

Thanks to you all for sending well wishes to Grumpy. Please keep them coming. I wanted to take this moment to say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays in whatever form best fits your beliefs. Ride hard, ride safe, and whenever possible... ride an FJR! :D

    BRP fun detour

Very common for tree huggers to park on the road itself. They actually stop in the road, get out to take pictures and commune with nature. Make sure you don't outrun your line of sight on 151. I've rounded a corner many times to meet the *** end of cager hiding around the turn.

    Sena SR10 2-way BT adapter

I have all the pieces in hand and plan to do some configuration and testing this week. I normally play MP3 music from the Zumo 660/Starcom and it's yet to be determined exactly where my music will need to reside. The SR10 was purchased in hopes of turning it into a wireless Starcom equivalent...

    New suspension settings

To venture nothing more than a guess... Sounds like your rebound may be set too soft. While that makes for a nice cushy ride, it allows the bike to return from a compression rapidly, sometimes TOO rapidly. Try closing your front and rear rebound clickers 2-4 clicks. Pay close attention to...

    Peg Scraping...

When I scrape a peg, I try harder not to. Sometimes that means simply slow down. Sometimes that means get my *** out of the seat and stop being a lazy pilot. Sometimes that means telling the GF to spread her legs and make more room. Sometimes I spew some comment about "how much dessert did she...

    Another Cascade's report

Awesome pics Kevin! Send me the hi-res of the three calendar pics, and I'll add some extra natural beauty to them. ;)

    Gen II Headlight failure

Based on the pictures I stand corrected, you CAN access the headlight On/Off relay without removing the nose. But I don't think I want to do it your way Don! :D Definitely a good tip from Ion on using the diag to "click" the OEM relay.

    Gen II Headlight failure

You guys had/have it right. The nose has to come off to gain access to the Headlight On/Off relay. It's in the same location from 2006-up.

    Gen II Headlight failure

Don, I sent you some help via email. You will NOT find the Headlight On/Off relay on a Gen-II without removing the nose plastic. I typically remove the entire nose, then remove the plastic, then re-hang the nose frame and mechanics to re-connect all the electrical and start troubleshooting.

EOM 11 from a Canucks perspective

Absolutely!!! We old motocross racers know way too much about cleaning mud off a bike. :( Simple Green in a 50/50 mix with water. Spray it on, let it stand for 1-2 minutes, then hose it off or better yet, use a moderate pressure washer (electric or lower pressure nozzle). Suzuki Bike Wash is...

    ENGINE Repair Decision

With today's prices and availability of used FJRs, NO WAY would I do a valve job. As mentioned above, pick up a complete head off a parted-out wreck, or buy an engine, or buy another bike. If you were racing the bike it would be different. You're not.

    EOM 2011 after action thread

It's very difficult to find someone willing to put forth so much effort and then sit quietly while inviting people to give him crap about the details. :) A big thanks to Wayne for his willingness to take on the challenge. And Thank You to everyone sharing their thoughts. I hope you feel good...

EOM 11 from a Canucks perspective

Cracked Ice was the most suspect of all the routes to have gravel/dirt. Cucumberland Gap turned out to be exactly as predicted, the crown jewel of EOM-11 routes. Cumberland Falls Park is a beautiful place to stay, but to the east into the fringes of TN is the place to ride. Sorry you guys got...

    EOM Tour of the Bluegrass

I must have missed it somehow. Normally I have route tracks to compare with the calculated route, but not this time. My version-2 thing was a quick pass at doing some touchups. I'll learn not to rush things one of these days... probably at my funeral.

    To the EOM Organizers.....

I'm just glad to see it's only a KISSING booth you want. Is space in front of the chapel good? It's closed until Sunday. :)

    EOM '11

I started to offer a set of pads, then I saw you have an '04, Oooops! Definitely do the pad position swap, and if that doesn't get it done... Check with Tim at TwoBrothersTires.com. He may be able to send a set of EBC pads with someone coming up from Atlanta. Make SURE he knows you are looking...

    New suspension settings

At 160 in full riding gear, you are approximately 15 lbs. lighter than the target stock weight. Yamaha's stock settings are typical for a 165 lb. rider (plus gear). 160 lbs. also makes you a definite exception to the typical FJR rider. Most of us can't remember the last time we saw 200 lbs...

    Just moved to Greensboro NC

Old Liberty Road is an excellent suspension test track. Be prepared for it, including the off-camber, decreasing radius, pothole turns. And when they say one-lane bridge... they MEAN one lane! Uwharrie forest is a good area in the colder months. Southern VA is well within reach for a day ride...

    Best mapping tool?

TYRE www.tyre.tk Free, awesome functionality based on Google Maps' engine. Great developer who actually rides motorcycles. If you need something that works without Internet access, still hard to beat MS Streets & Trips. MapSucks... well... even on its best days it still SUCKS!!!

    2012 FJR1300 information released

You know... when you have something that looks like Michelle Pfeiffer, does it really matter what color it is??? I too am happy to see the FJR remain available. I was expecting much worse.
