Had a nice day two days ago as I rode this route here.

CanAm-1.jpg

I had put this ride up to the forum and went to the meet up spot and all I found was a couple of Harley guys. No big deal as I knew I didn’t have any takers, so headed out by myself. Decided to head out 530 and go over 20 (the North Cascade Hwy).

Couldn’t believe that it was still dark at 07:30

When it did get light it was foggy and cold.

Tried to get a shot crossing the steel grated bridge just north of Darrington, didn’t come out to well as I wasn’t running fast enough to keep the bike from jiggling.

DSCN4684.jpg

Some pleasant view’s were waiting as I headed for the pass.

It started getting cold.

So cold I stopped to put the gloves on my girl friend as her hands were getting cold.

Decided to look around a bit.

That’s the way I’m headed.

You can’t get to artsy with a old point and shoot.

This dummy got me to slow down a bit as I entered Winthrop.

My attempt at food ****, a cinnamon roll with walnuts (heated) and coffee the nectar of the morning gods.

DSCN4714.jpg

Outside seating of course, couldn't figure out why I was sitting by myself, but then I remembered that it was only 38 degree’s out.

DSCN4715.jpg

A look around the man made cowboy town.

The town Marshall was glad that I didn’t bring the Old Piefart.

DSCN4719.jpg

George and Dave are lucky I don’t have any skills in Photo-shop.

They would go from riding this.

DSCN3422.jpg

To these!

DSCN4717.jpg

Went on over LoLo and rode thru Okanogan, I like this town don’t know why but I do.

DSCN4722.jpg

DSCN4723.jpg

I rode up 97 towards Tonasket and always what wondered what the little valley by the town of Riverside was like.

DSCN4726.jpg

DSCN4727.jpg

I rode out Turk valley road for ten or so miles, I could learn to like that road!

You feel like you are out in the country just a bit.

I finally got back on 97 thinking I had better get a move on as this stopping was going to put me in late. I fueled up in Tonasket and then headed for Loomis and stopped at Scully’s for lunch/dinner. Just bake potato soup and a roast beef sandwich.

Went by Palmer Lake.

DSCN4738.jpg

Boy! I’m getting behind, not even in Canada yet.

DSCN4741.jpg

They don’t build them like they use to.

DSCN4743.jpg

Then on to the Nighthawk broader crossing and into Canada.

I was riding west on 3 just pass Hedley when I saw this little sign that said “Old Hedley Rd” couldn’t help myself and had to turn around and took it up to Princeton. Glad I did!

A over the shoulder shot of the Weyerhaeuser mill in Princeton.

DSCN4750.jpg

Back on 3 headed for Hope.

DSCN4752.jpg

DSCN4751.jpg

A shot of my rabbit running thru Sunshine Valley, this guy ran a steady 80 to 85 all the way from Princeton to Sumas. Good rabbit.

Battery died in my little Nikon Cool Pic after that and it was pretty much gas it and go the rest of the way home. Didn’t really put a foot down while in BC, other than hit the duty free store so I didn’t have to wait in line at the boarder. I fueled up in Sumas taking 5.7 gallons of fuel running thirty mile’s on the reserve.

Got in around Eight, good day all in all.

I'd LOVE to take this loop with you one of these days. Really gorgeous scenery, and beautiful roads!

(Of course, those temps would've had me sniveling like a Southern Californian.

...And ALL you had was baked potato soup and a roast beef sandwich?

How do you keep up your strength?

Excellent Report Kevin... Living in the PNW sure has its advantages. Much more scenic than those old Sierra Mountains down in California. Nice Job! We were up by Mount Baker yesterday and it has a beautiful new blanket of snow! Rich

You really nailed it with these shots Kevin. Let us know when the calendar is available.

Thanks for sharing.

Keep Going!

Great ride, Oh, and work sucks. Those cinnamon rolls are a destination ride for us. Thanks for taking us along.

Nice looking pics there Kev! Going to have to make that loop one of these days. :)

So...send an email next time. Geez...
BReamer...do try and keep up! ;)

Awesome pics Kevin!

Send me the hi-res of the three calendar pics, and I'll add some extra natural beauty to them. ;)

Nice RR Kevin, I want to ride tomorrow but I think it's getting too cold and icy over the passes, there was a wreck on Stevens Pass today due to ice.

Great report, Kevin! :clapping:

I know it's tough "duty" but I'm glad you're able to force yourself to ride those roads through that lousy scenery.

Then share the photos with us,... :yahoo:

Uhm....if Old Michael rides along you'll have to move your start time back about 2 hours and plan on finishing around midnight.

He'll be stopping often to take pictures..... :)
