    Bike wants to stand up....

You already answered your own question. He has the ride height screwed up with the front too high, or the rear too low, or both. And he needs a new set of tires with fresh profiles. I have not ridden the 2011, but the 2010 handled very well for a stock bike. Always go to fresh tires before...

    Dirty Ol' Whore (2)

Post up??? I don't think so!!! That DOW needs much more than a whore bath. :)

05 cuts out under hard 2nd gear acelleration

If the problem persists after changing plugs; checking battery condition, battery connections and voltage might be a good choice. It's not likely that a weak battery could drain the stator output enough at high RPM to be a problem, but it is possible. A loose battery connection will wreak havoc...

Suspension! 2 years later. How is the 8 rebound, 8 compression and 2 lines showing working out for you?

Nope, just the opposite. Looking UP from the bottom/underneath, it's a right-hand/clockwise turn to zero, then counter-clockwise clicks to eight(8).

how fast would a GEN II need to be going to lowside and standback up?

I'd estimate $4,500 in parts plus $2,000 in labor. It's a close call whether or not insurance will total it. But if they do, I'd take the settlement check and buy a used '06. You will like it more than the '07. If she likes the Black color, pony up some extra $$$ and buy a used '08. Remember...

    Just for Niehart

I'm with Don. I was expecting Pie ****. I think I remember what 45F feels like.

HD finally admits that Loud Pipes cost...

Well it's about damn time! It's good to see HD officially say NO. I hope it pays off for them AND us. HD owners should enjoy their new Remus exhaust. They are the most Harley-ish thing I've ever spent my hard-earned dollar purchasing.

    Laguna Seca in 5 minutes

That pass to the outside, around two bikes, was one of the sweetest pieces of piloting I've ever seen. Absolutely to the ragged edge and fearless.

100,000 Mile Update on my 2006

Congrats on 100k miles! Pretty soon your '06 will pass my '07. My '06 is getting most of the miles lately. Cap the PAIR system, then re-do your TBS. That will probably eliminate the idle problem. And you may never need to do another TBS.

Is a radar detector really worth it?

I completely forgot about that ancient thread. I'll have to dig it up for ole times sake. :) I can't tell if the OP bought his RD yet or not? But this thread sure has made me feel better about myself. Once on an extended weekend trip, my RD died and the GF thought I was nuts for talking...

    Admorelighting Harness Connector

I designed that harness setup. I prefer to drill a hole in the upper surface of the tail cone section, just aft of where that rubber grommet/gasket sits. I use a large rubber grommet (large enough for the connector to fit through) to sleeve the bored hole. That makes the Admore harness exit the...

Is a radar detector really worth it?

IMHO ... +1,000 It's not nearly so much about how fast I am going, as not having to worry so much about how fast I am going. My #1 concern is staying alive and doing my best to stay in control of the situation around me. It's mighty damn easy to slip up to 10-15 mph over posted on an FJR while...

Is a radar detector really worth it?

Please define "stupid fast" in specific terms.

    GenII won't start

Any chance you are starting the bike periodically and NOT allowing it to fully warm up??? That's the best way I know to cause the problem you describe. ALWAYS allow the bike to reach 1-2 bars on the temperature gauge before shutting off the engine. If it's still on fast idle, let it run until...

Suspension! 2 years later. How is the 8 rebound, 8 compression and 2 lines showing working out for you?

At this time, I only know of three(3) front tires that wear consistently on the FJR; Pirelli Angel, Michelin Pilot Road-2, and Metzler Roadtec-Z8. Every other front tire I've run exhibits some type of unusual/uneven/excessive wear. That's NOT to say I've run them all. My settings were intended...

    Sena SR10

I hope to have one of the first production SR-10s. We'll see. It's about time for something on one of my wired Starcom systems to crap out anyway!!! :(

Is a radar detector really worth it?

Using a radar detector as an added tool of awareness, definitely improves your odds of not receiving a performance award. It definitely does not guarantee against it. Being stopped with a radar detector visible to the officer, definitely improves your odds of receiving a "full citation" without...

    StarComm and Engine Noise/Interferrence.

Those uber-expensive Starcom isolated audio cables actually go bad, slowly, painfully, deceptively. My advice is before you start tearing everything apart, pickup a new cable and try it, or at least try the cheapo non-isolated audio cable just for yucks. I have spent a lot of time tracking down...

Ethanol versus regular gas fuel mileage test

We've resorted to purchasing 100 Low-lead (AvGas) for all the racing bikes, because all reasonably available local sources for pure gasoline have disappeared. The average hours between rebuilds when using AvGas is 3x, YES 3x!!!, that of motors running any grade of pump gas. Why does that...

    Throttle roll seems very stiff

Depending on the miles, you may need to clean the throttle bodies. Dirty/sticky throttle bodies give exactly the same symptoms as a bad throttle cable.
