Problems on the Chief Joseph/Dead Indian road

I've ridden that road only once and I intend to ride it again. Glad it wasn't a worse slide. If you've never experienced that road on a bike, you're really missing a great experience! Thanks, John, for the update.

Yamaha--Stepping Up with New Features for LD Riders!

How long before we see "The Darkside Special Edition" model? And maybe the trailer towing equipment package?

What did you do to your FJR today?

I looked at mine as I readied the FJ-09 for a ride into work. In the rain. But afternoon is looking to be warm and dry so I'll be taking the long way home.

What did you do to your FJR today?

rbentnail, I don't recommend using blue Loctite (242) on anything that potentially comes into contact with plastic. Loctite 242 (blue) and 271 (red) will breakdown some plastics, polycarbonate (Lexan) in particular. I learned this lesson the hard way. Loctite makes another product #495 that...

Bell Revolver Modular Helmet, size M

Helmet is in very good condition. This model has a flip down internal sun visor also. Bought this a couple years ago for my pillion, turned out to be just a little too small. She decided to use my daughter's HJC size L instead. So the Bell's been collecting dust for a while, time to sell it...

    Drive Shaft Spline Lubrication

Buy the FJR, you'll be a happy rider. And don't let the greased spline issue dissuade you. Greasing of the splines is a 30 minute (tops) process when you're changing the rear tire. I usually do it every other tire change. I cannot recall ever seeing a failure of an FJR drive shaft spline...

Un-Linking Front Brakes on 2nd Gens (and later)

Fred, Regarding post #9 above: Area of the piston varies with the square of the diameter, therefore the ratio is not linear. For your first example (33.96^2 - 30.23^2)/(30.23^2) X 100 = 26.2% not 12.3% Cranking through the rest of the equations is left to the student. JSNS

What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

Here in New England we're having a late winter nor'easter today. 2-4" inches of snow per hour (18" total forecasted) and high winds, coastal erosion, etc. Looks like the bike stays in the garage a while longer.

    need help SR357

I just put a new Seth Laam on my 2014 with the SR357 rack. It is a tight fit, but the seat will go on. If you want to see a photo, PM me your email address. Be aware that every seat is constructed differently, according to the info you give Seth. Its worth discussing the fit with the Givi...

2017 Wheel Balancer Offer Last 1 SOLD

This year, as in previous years, I make an extra balancer in case one of the units gets lost or damaged en route to it's new owner. All of this year's hardware made it to their new home, so consequently I have one new balancer that is not spoken for. If you are interested, please PM me.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Got out for 25-30 miles on this unseasonably warm (and sunny) February day. Got my first miles on the new Seth Laam. Best thing I can say is I didn't really notice it. Looking forward to many more miles when real spring arrives.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Got my new Seth Laam seats put on the bike. Feel pretty good just sitting in the garage making vroom vroom noises. Too much white stuff on the roads right now for a proper evaluation. I know Seth has had a tarnished reputation for his communication skills and business practices, but I did not...

Reasons to Like Super Bowl Sunday

I was traveling for work on 2/5. Ended up watching the SB in a bar/restaurant in Florida. Boy, there are a lot of Atlanta fans out on the Florida panhandle. They sure got quiet in the 4th quarter. At least the got to enjoy the commercials.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Talked to Seth Laam for about a half hour as he was preparing to make my seats. He asked a lot of good questions and we had a productive conversation (I think). Seats will be in MA next week.
