    Steering Head Bearings... (Again!)

Did the problem start when you put the new tire on? Avon has had issues with quality control on many of their tires, especially the fronts. I would not be heading for the steering bearings first, especially since you say you cannot percieve any play. My money's on a bad tire. FWIW

    PCIII reset question

YUP. What he said. The O2 sensor being pluged in will just wrestle with the PCIII map. Unplug it and you are back to normal.

Now this is a car commercial

My son had one. Totally awesome car. His was 400HP with a 6 speed. I think the new ones may be 450. He got rid of it quickly though because everyone was blowing up the rear ends without even trying. Except for that one problem, it was a luxury rocket.

    Headlights brightness fluctuating

Yup, what they said. That is the quickest (and crudest) way to see if your alternator is working. They should go from OK looking, to a little brighter when you rev it up. They should not go from very dim to bright. The change should be suttle but noticable. I set my idle at 1200. A little on...

    Side stand enlarger

Speaking of side stands: This guy has an elderly father and does his best to take care of him until the burden just gets too big. As a a last resort, he gets his dad into a nursing home. Feeling guilty and protective he checks on him every day. After about a week he asks his dad how they are...

Drive Shaft - Help plz (any FJR owners?)

Picture police won't let me see your photo's right now but it is very normal to hear all kinds of clunking and banging if the bike is on the center stand idling in gear. These engines, most engines, do not idle that teribly smooth so the gears and shafts and splines will all chuck around and...

    08 suspension linkage replacement

You ain't gonna like this answer but...... To get that bolt out you have to remove the center stand. To remove the center stand bolts you have to remove the exhaust header pipes from the engine which means you have to remove both side fairings. The eaiest way to remove the header pipes is to...

    One piece left over

Just one screw? Man, you are doing way better than me. I again, just this afternoon, put the gas tank back on and had it all all buttoned up when I found that plastic safety clip that goes on the fuel line laying on the work bench. With out exageration I bet I have done that 15 times. :angry2:

    Snatchy Throttle Fix...

My bike, with the original pre-recall ECU and a PCIII ran perfect. Then I did the ECU recall and it ran horrible. All the remapping in the world would not straighten it out. I finally bought a used pre-recall ECU and now the bike again runs perfect. I think in my case I just got a bad ECU. Figures.

    First Long Ride

I could not ride the FJR for more than 1.5 hours without severe butt pain in my "sit" bones using the stock seat. It's not necessarily the bike as I have had the same problem with other bikes. So I concluded I must have a deffective butt and needed to make changes. I finally got a Russel seat...

#1 safety additions to your FJR

I think my bike would be a lot safer if I installed a better driver. Seems it would ruin the fun though. I guess I'll just risk it as is.

    The ONE piece of advice...

Read a book! Someone told me to get a book like Proficient Motorcycle Riding or something similar and read it. I did, and several others, and there was so much information in there that I had never even thought of it was amazing. I can't really say it made me a good rider, but it at least made...

    Rear Brake Problem

I'm with wfooshee. I still think your pedal is sticking and if the technician did not lube it, it is going to happen again. Spray some oil on the brake pedal shaft and work it up and down, and even try to move it in and out. It will a little. Spray on both sides of the pivot point so it soaks...

I think I just grenaded my mower motor!

Next time you go to start that mower try this. Push the handlebar down to the ground, or at least almost that far, and hold it there for 3 seconds. Let it back up and try to start it. Depending on your carb/fuel tank style and orientation this often works. Floods the carb just a little and makes...

    Today was a good day!

I started out waving to everyone, but got tired of being snubbed by the "bikers." But then I noticed something. If you wave to a pack of bikers they may all snub you, but almost always the guy at the end will wave. Hmmm. Why is that? Probably, it's because the guy at the end is the usually the...

    DerbyCycles.NET

I don't understand, why do they do that? 1. Just enjoy pissing people off? 2. Create an expensive site to make your regular site look better? 3. To many people on staff so keep them busy doing refunds?

    Rear Brake Problem

Here is a WAG for you. Brakes can't just go bad like that for no reason. Something happened. My guess: 1. The pedal may spring back but does it spring back all the way? If the master cylinder does not come completely all the way back two things will happen. The rear brake drags and gets hot...
