    FJRF008: Cam Chain Tensioner Survey

Ray, I'd have to take issue with your first sentence. As the originator of this thread, I can unequivocally state that the spring in MY tensioner broke, resulting in the (unwanted) replacement of my '04's motor at 46k miles. Jarmo's experience is only the 2nd that I'm aware of of the CCT's...

Balancing the fuel injection every 4000 miles

103,000 miles on my '04. Never done a TBS. Probably never will. No polar bears can blame their deaths on me.

    My Tire Comparo

First PR4 now on the front...6000 miles and counting. Sipes still present, haven't worn out yet. Previously, 3 Pr2 Fronts, total 36,00 miles. Currently, Michelin Sport AS Plus on the rear, 56,000 miles and another 5-6k remaining on it. May NEVER wear out.

    Any rumor on the 2016...?

Yeah, AJ...just what the world needs...a gutless 2 cylinder FJR that was overweight before they added 17" alloys, larger fairings, FJRish subframe and new exhaust system. YUCK!! No thanks!!

    03 ticker

Seals alone won't do it... The valve guides need replacing, too.

    Hard clutch

Also, you might try your "compress the front assembly" differently. Don't use the brakes! Instead, roll the bike up to something stationary, such as a garage wall or a truck bumper, etc., and do the compression test without touching the front brakes to keep the bike from rolling away from you...

Well, I think this is a new one...

Won't work....the inner shell isn't attached to anything other than the outer shell, which IS attached to the other half the of bag with a big piano hinge. The inner shell is positively located in the correct "latching" position by being attached to the colored outside shell.
