The pipes can get red hot when under throttle, especially with diminished cooling conditions. The surface of the pipes chemically reacts with the heat to oils and other contaminates in the air or rain spray. That's why fingerprints get so ugly. Polish mechanically removes the top surface layer...

I'm in Rockville, MD (zip code 20850) with a futon and floor space if somebody needs a place to sleep for a night. It's a bit over 8 saddle hours to EOM from here, so about half-way for the New Englanders.

We have Qwests, in addition to the old RFs, a Shark, etc. The Qwest has a bit less venting for heat and is much more comfy, as others wrote. What I'll add is that in sealing up tighter, it also fogs faster in rain. All in all, it's a winner and we'll keep ours.

I've had the 600 on the Super Tenere through the summer and if there were an alternative I'd drop the thing like a hot potato. The upsides are the screen in sunlight, screen size, and the weatherproof, AMP mount availability. The screen is MUCH easier to see in sunlight than my work Oregon and...
