    Oil filter change

EZPZ and you won't get oil on your plastic. Rear end oil, drain it on the side stand and you won't get it on your wheel.

    I can relate!

    Beyond Frustration--Mirror Mount Bracket Snapped

DAMHIK, but the mirror will fold up against the upper fairing (and windshield if you have the right one), so will the FZ1 mirrors..... and if you drop your bike, and have crash bars, it will likely roll right over far enough to flex the fairing in that location. There is no need to test it...

    Gen 3 heat issues/Exhaust Cans

I think there were cat revisions for GenIII....... and it looked to me that the mid-pipe material was slightly different grade of stainless?? There may be a slight difference in colour, but nothing drastic. Also, there does seem to be some extra warmth on the feet with GenIII, I attribute to...

    FJR Tech Day XIII

i'm breathing a sigh of relief that Bust can't make it...... now I won't have to worry about bending over to pick up any tools I drop.

The only strippers we're likely to see are those who tend to overtorque stuff.........

Are more expensive Motorcycle Helmets really any safer?

Happy for you Fred, I think you made the right choice. The Neotec feels great every time I put it on.

    Beyond Frustration--Mirror Mount Bracket Snapped

I've already proven the FZ1 mirrors won't save you and seriously doubt you can push the bike with the epoxied fix, or I'll even venture to say the reinforcement fix. It is a thin casting predisposed to breaking with very little abuse. I'd have mixed feelings about reinforcements.... the next...

    Learning Base Camp

FYI, if you have a Zumo 590 you can only load .gpx via Basecamp or Windows. If you create files elsewhere, save as .gpx, import into Basecamp, you risk Basecamp totally screwing it up (random re-ordering of waypoints that don't resemble your route).

    Beyond Frustration--Mirror Mount Bracket Snapped

I epoxied mine with JB Weld steel epoxy...... it dries slow so you got time to work with it. coat the broken surfaces and put some extra along the joint. Wait until tomorrow and coat it again...... it is at least as strong as the original, and it will hold up well........... however, if you...

Jon if you wear matching pink lipstick, I promise you some attention will come your way! Edit - oops, maybe that didn't come out right............

    FJR Tech Day XIII

The ES fork jobs are likely just a fork oil change and new seals...... no need to change any internals, there are no bushings, your springs are already decent rate, so a good cleanup and reassembly. Seals and oil will be what you need. I just did two valve checks yesterday, a GenIII and a...

    Replace Tomtom V5 Digitizer

Not familiar with the TomTom digitizer replacement, but on the Zumo it is far less trouble to spend a few extra bucks and get the digitizer and screen assembly....... on the Zumo 550, the digitizer and screen have their own ribbon contacts which slip into a connector on the main board and clip...

    Audiovox install

Have you tested vacuum to the actuator itself to verify there is not a hole in the diaphram? You may have, it just wasn't clear to me. On my AVCC install I only used one vacuum source and it worked fine for 7 years... if you want to simplify your install and eliminate another potential source...

    Torque loss after service.

Just a caution on using the pip/oil hole thing, it is easy to think you're OK and not be, if you don't look straight down on the engine (it is angled in the frame). I always advise using the cam sprocket marks as the primary datum, it's hard to be wrong using those. I may be too used to...

2016 Fall Foliage Ride October 15-17

I'm with Petey....... I always thought riding on rails meant you had a good suspension on two wheels.......... but hey, trains are fun too.

    The Rectum Stretcher

How the hell you think I keep Bill from snoring? Swat him on the *** and leave the lid open, I sleep like a baby while he sits on the edge of the bed all night. Truth is, if you want to see these glass marvels in person, go visit the Curtiss museum in Hammondsport, NY.
