    Hotwired ignition, worked, no worked

Bike in Neutral, kickstand down, red kill switch in proper position... only change was inclusion of toggle.. and it worked briefly too. Actually, Zorlac, when it comes to electronics I am very much like the kid in your avatar, but I do love a good mocking. (Oh crap, and it's Friday). Axe, I...

What was that? You say stay right.

It was Toe, and on one ride alone he saved my *** over ten times (no joke)... from boat-towing-redneck-huntingtrailer-towing-cammo-wearing yah-hoos who couldn't figure out why I was coming at them in their "English Lane"... Thanks again Toe! I don't have a clue what you sound like, but when I'm...

    Hotwired ignition, worked, no worked

thank you to all for the responses. this place really is a lifeline. 50 amp, huh? Didn't see it but wasn't looking for it because I didn't know it was there. Is a 50 amp available at regular auto parts places or is this special ordered from somewhere far far away? Never had to buy anything more...

    Hotwired ignition, worked, no worked

I know another F'n ignition question, but only KIND OF... see, I did the hotwire and it worked, and I started her up and I was happy. Then I realized the power was on continuously but I wanted to be able to shut it off so I inserted a toggle switch as recommended/shown (thanks HiYo).. and it...

    Removal of Warning Sticker

I pulled my thumb outta my *** and used my thumbnail... took a while but finished removing the residue w WD-40... then a good coat of wax... Thumb looks great now. (did the same with the sticker). C

    We Lost A Great Friend

Is there anyway for those that interacted with him on this forum to somehow "keep" the PMs for posterity and NOT have them count against the number of PMs that accumulate in the private email sections? (Does that make sense...?) I never met him in person, but really enjoyed seeing the avatar as...

    We Lost A Great Friend

I have to say that BOTH ideas, (naming the event after him... AND ... the TWN emoticon) are both fantastic ideas. The event name would signify the respect he earned as a man, a rider, a forum member and as an event coordinator... and the icon would be a clever way that he could keep showing up...

Sell the FJR, or will a PCIII fix the throttle?

I am honestly getting tired of lurching out of turns, so much so that I'm losing love for my bike... Several time I have had such a burst that I was sure my next stop was gonna be in someone's passenger window! I know, "buy the PCIII and it will be like you dumped Viagra in the tank", blah...

    FJRF003.0: Ignition Failures on FJRs

Well, I have just entered this not-so-elite club... and I am not happy about it, mostly because it means my ignition failed, but also because I have seen the list of other "members" and being on the same list might keep me from ever getting a respectable job in the future... Bike: 2007...

    double solid lines a suggestion?

Double YELLOW lines are always NO PASSING (oncoming lane is off limits), but the double WHITE lines are usually indicated to separate you from "same direction traffic" that has either its own direction-change coming soon, or a designated lane (ie toll/pass/diamond etc)! Just as the long white...

    New V-Max

Oh, I'd much rather have the B-King... OK, not "much rather" but ...rather. C

stuff you always have with you and where do you keep it?

Simple really, the bigger the trailer you haul the bike on, the more stuff you can carry, like big tents, coolers, flyfishing gear, queensize inflatable beds. I'd recommend a 12 footer, then you can even bring a generator and a BBQ! C

Autopsy of my ignition switch (incl pictures)

So, in layman's terms, the simple-get-my-***-home-fix is to nut the RED and BROWN wires together, avoid the blue wires if possible, use the key as normal, and remove the wire nut when I stop the bike at the barn?! If this is correct nod once, if wrong please correct and give a wink. I don't...

    Very bittersweet logging in today...(8/10/08)

I've been meaning to post something about this but kept delaying. Now IS the time... Toe, I do owe you "something" but not sure how to pay it. I read your "stay right" post a while back and it resonated with me. I too have that at the forefront of my riding awareness BECAUSE YOU PUT IT THERE...

    Engine really freed up...

I have to chime in here, as a while back I posted the question about "feeling an HP increase" when switching from dino oil to synthetic. I personally FELT a noticeable difference in power! I'm talking riding for an hour, park, change fluid and filter, ride away. I have no doubt there was a...

This is a test on posting a PIC

Note: bird cage in corner of pic... I think your bird is dead... maybe open the garage door when your running the bike! Yeesh, they didn't learn ya nothin' in cop school! Um, are those lights for sale by any chance? If so I'd like first dibs. Thanks C

    Thinking about a KLR 650...

Beemerdons, thanks for the test ride offer! Very generous of you. I do have a dealer here that will let me test ride, as he let me test the FJR and I paid him cash when I got back to their barn! He likey me! If I could get one around here to test before they get theirs in it sure would be...
