+1 - thought of wrestling a 600+ pound pig around off-road does not appeal to me in the least.

I ride the Bridgestone BT-023GT because they give me great confidence in both wet and dry and get pretty good mileage out of them.
And their cost is right in my price range.
But I ran the Avon Storms for years and liked them - anyone got any feedback on the Storm Ultra? Anyone? Buehler?
Funny, I've gone the opposite. I used to live for group rides and going out with my buddies. The last few group rides, and even a ride with one other person, I've been nowhere near as happy as I am out on my own. Something about being free to just go, and do it your own way, stop when you want...
Really there is no need to do this on the Gen I's since they run soooooo much better and have sooooo much more power than than the later Gen X models... YMMV.
