TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

A single data point on Road 5 vs 6. I found the Road 5 wore out quicker than the Road 4’s and the Road 6’s I am using now. Road 5. (One set) approx 8000 km (5000 miles) Road 4 (two sets) approx 10000 km Road 6 (one set) over 8000 km now and still going. Of course YMMV :) -Steve

Drive train "crashing" when engaged on a cold engine

^^ As above. Some report that pulling the clutch in 3 or 4 times before engaging first gear minimizes the clunk. -Steve

    "Jumping" FJR

You can do this, there will be an arrow molded on the tire sidewall. Make sure its pointed in the correct direction, ‘forward’. Something like this : -Steve

    (Tire) Life is good

Maybe I am the only one who missed this boat - Have you checked out tire inflators lately? Not the clunky 12V ones with battery clamps and a mess of wire that only fits the case once. Instead, check out the post COVID crop of rechargeable battery powered handhelds. I have used this product, and...

    2006 Bulb Types

If memory serves: the ABS lamp, as you found fast flashing turn signals (could be wrong about this) poor performance as lamp housing/internal reflector(s) are not optimized for LED light design/output. I think its safe to say that adding LED lamps generally turn out better than replacing with...

Cardo Bold and Sena 50S questions

Phone and GPS output via BT yes, not sure about radar detector. It might depend on what BT profiles the radar detector can support. Since BT earbuds mimic BT headphones, I will guess the Sena will connect to any modern BT earbuds, but havent tried this myself. I stand corrected. -Steve

    FJR Forum Decal design

Correct OEM saddlebags - Most obviously convex exterior, chrome or rubber strip and pop out reflector. And main body color, at least from the factory. Thx for indulging my request. -Steve

Much improved. No chance of switching to the correct side bags? A ’more Yamaha’ blue would great. -Steve

    Top trunk rack availability?

News to me. What plate? You might have to shop outside the USA for the replacement rack. Yamaha Canada says 2 weeks, but YMMV. Have you tried Yamaha Sports Plaza ? I have had good luck with them, but call, dont bother with the website. -Steve

Both headlights, at the same time?!

Does ‘look it over’ translate into just checking for thrown codes? Maybe there is a forumite in your area that has the gear to assist you with that as a first step? -Steve

    Top trunk rack availability?

Just making sure we are talking about the same thing- The rack that came with your bike takes the smaller top case, there is no non trunk rack. If you want to mount the OEM 50 lt case, you need a different rack, part number is 1MC-248D0-00-00. I googled the part number and found a few in stock...
