I just went to Auto Zone to pick up some 3323's and sure nuff......they were all (8) the convex style. Checked the 3300's and same story. I wound up with a M1-110 and it looked and worked fine. May just start using OEM's in the future as the Mobil 1 version was pricey!

I'm an equal opportunity Michelin user. I run a PR4 GT on the rear, and a standard PR4 on the front. I'm thinking a greater percentage of the load is towards the rear when I'm touring with fully loaded bags and top box. Not sure if there is any real advantage to running this combination but it...

You might also have a look at the SW Motech rack at twisted throttle. Looks very similar to the touratech rack and cost about 110.00 if memory serves. You can also buy a mounting kit which attaches to the rack to mount the top box of your choice should you ever decide you want one. I've got this...

While I'm a bit taller than you, I didn't care for the VStream sport touring version and got rid of it. The tint is very light and shouldn't be an issue after dark. I've got a Givi now and really like it. Much quieter and much better looking. Might be worth a look.

I'm a returnee to the clan as well. After 2 1/2 years I also returned to the fold. I'm on FJR #4 and think I appreciate the bike even more after riding another brand. No regrets! Beautiful bike you found there!

While waiting in line at the pay station to get into Zion National Park, a friend of mine dropped his brand new BMW on it's side. Once we got it righted, we looked up and in the adjacent lane, an entire tour bus lane full of Japanese tourists were snapping pictures and pointing at us. Embarrassing !

You didn't happen to take a picture of your FJR at the summit alongside all the serious off-road vehicles?

Thanks for sharing your story, great read. Like some others, my mom never rode with me and worried when I was going for a ride but always told me to have a good time and be careful. Also, that's a great looking bike you've got !
