The suction cups holding my radar detector held fine until the temperature dropped to near freezing, then it fell off. Luckily I saw it and caught it, but the suction cups wouldn't work when it got cold. They wouldn't even reattach until the weather warmed up again. They work great in warmer...
I have a 36" antenna with a frame grounding strap. The JM2003CB with antenna and XM Radio was bought as a complete system. I never tuned it with a meter. I would if I had one but I'm lazy. :)
My experience with FRS/GMRS handheld radios on the bike has varied wildly between brands. I have a cheap set of audiovox radios that won't work on the bike at all. Step up to the Midland camouflage set and they worked better but one was weaker than the other and caused us problems. We...
My brother and I have both used the IMC MIT100 intercom systems from Sierra Electronics for the past 18 months. They worked very well. It was a great deal for $199 as it came with all the cords needed to plug in everything we needed, including FRS/GMRS radios, cell phones, MP3, etc...
For those of you who signed up for the $77-per-year deal, go read the fine print.
When the contracted period is up (is it one year?), the rate goes up to something like $37 per month unless you change your plan back.
I forget the details but this was just last week when I purchased only one...
Funny! And there's more truth to this story than one might think!
Years ago a neighbor's cat crawled into our car through an open window and died in it. In the summer. That was bad.

Hi all,
I recently found a used 2007 FJR1300A for sale in Phoenix. It had some modifications done to it, including a sticker on the side that reads "Len's bike" in cursive lettering.
I was hoping "Len" would be reachable on this forum and could give me more information about the bike.
I'll...

Last weekend I saw a brand new '08 at a dealer in Coopersburg, PA. $9,999.
Thanks Brian. Too far from me but I appreciate the help.
Good news! Thanks for sharing!
And there's something visually appealing about the horrific stickers they put all over that bike. I know it's for police use, but wow. I love it and hate it at the same time. :dribble:
I have. I found a few that are over 1000 miles away, not that that's a problem riding it home  but it's hard to buy a machine sight-unseen like that. Now if there were one locally....
Beautiful machine! It looks even better all alone in the parking lot like that. I think that says something positive about the rider. :)
Does this count, if I'm not on an FJR yet?
This was somewhere around Coal Bank Pass Summit, most of it over 10,000 ft elevation. It got REALLY cold...
Thanks! I actually test rode that machine a while back. It has signs of hard use and the dash is full of ugly holes and cracks from farkle mounts and it has some issues I don't want to deal with on a newer bike.
Hi all,
I'm looking for a late model FJR1300AE, preferably a 2008 or 2009, in good condition.
I'm in Phoenix. I can only find dealer stock and the dealers are unwilling to deal.
Point me to any deals you know of. Thanks!

Thanks Gary, I've heard statements like that before, but I've been shopping for 6 months and haven't found any such deals on new bikes.
The cheapest I found to date was at a dealership in Tulsa, OK, but I'm wary of that for two reasons:
1) Riding a new bike home 1000+ miles and finding any...
