A New Reason to Like Cruisers - NWS...probably

Whoever coined the phrase "Nobody's perfect" obviously never laid eyes on her. Thanks Iggy.

You Prefer Sat or Sun to ride

At the risk of answering Jdog's question, I'd say Sunday...for exactly the reason Geezer stated.

    Jeff Dunham

If you haven't seen his Christmas Special yet, rent it (also available through Netflix stream). One of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time. Jeff Dunham is ridiculously talented and very...VERY funny.

Is it ever OK to laugh at a Stranded (fellow) Rider?

I believe the ruling is that it IS okay to laugh, but it must be a CHP on a BMW...but you must get a photograph to share :glare:

Throttle Body Synch-time - Which way?

Had an old Motion Pro economy model for a few years; just replaced it this year with a Carbtune that I bought online from the U.K. Delivery was pretty quick. I like the Carbtune a lot. Even with a weak U.S. dollar, I think it's quality makes it a good value.

    fuze block FZ1 ?

Got one; love it. I don't have a pic of where I mounted it but I used of of Panman's photos to illustrate. It fits like it was meant to be there. There's even "cutouts" on the left and right side that allow the accessory wires to exit out the sides of the Fuzeblock...

    Chicago-area garage day

Got a phone call from Jon earlier this evening. His father-in-law passed away unexpectedly earlier today so he's understandably canceled the garage day that was planned for this Sunday.

Lunch meet-up on Sun. Nov 8

Wish I could make this, blitzer, but I can't. I know there are guys in the area who are looking to ride on Sunday. Anyone?.....Anyone?.........

Would like an ignition reminder beeper

As I'm reading through the thread, I'm thinking the exact same thing. Then I see CAJW has posted it already! I'm not sure whether I should be happy or terrified that someone thinks like me  I believe the thought is, develop the habit so you instinctively do it without having to...

    Chicago-area garage day

Thanks Jon. A heated garage with cold beverages? I'm there! I have nothing to do on my bike, but will be glad to lend a hand (maybe even two) to anyone who's working on theirs.

A question to any of the MSF instructors out there

Great post, jet mechanic. One of my favorite parts of teaching the BRC is discussing Common Riding Situations and the interactive video that accompanies that section. The students watch several short video clips (from a riders point of view) and they must decide how to react to potentially...

    iPhone on the FJR

Ditto...Occaisionally, I'll slip it into a home made padded pouch in the glove box to charge since the battery life is less than stellar. I also have my Zumo wired to my StarCom system.

    Winter gloves

+1 on the silk glove liner idea. They bridge the gap between just using everyday gloves and having to fire up the Gerbings, without the expense of another pair of gloves.

Lowered bike needs a shorter center stand

The 2x4 idea was addressed in post #5... Regarding Bounce's Law, I think Jon has also addressed that by already buying a second centerstand which he'll shorten and replace the original centerstand with. And if I know Jon, once he completes the project, he'll produce exceptionally well-detailed...

    Chicago Dyno Day

Count me in, especially if Dale's involved.

    New helmet arrived today

Without turning this into an oil thread by discussing why you or I feel a Shoei is worth the money or what a helmet's life should be, I'll just address your original concern about its manufacture date. I agree. There's a big difference between a helmet being exposed to heat/cold/UV rays/sweat...

SE Ohio October Ride -October 17, 2009

Seems like an obvious screen name for the son of one of the most respected members of the forum. Congrats again on passing the BRC and don't lose that completion card. Now, just because your the son of the guy who started the thread doesn't mean you can hijack it!

SE Ohio October Ride -October 17, 2009

GREAT report, Mark. Really nice turnout, given the questionable weather forecast and cool temps. Wish I could have joined you, but as you know, I did not ride last weekend because I was teaching a BRC that included none other than young wheaton jr., who (if I may briefly hijack this thread)...

    Can you identify this part?

What, you don't carry a spare tire on your bike!? I used to have it mounted on the back of my top case, but I thought that looked really tacky  (that's actually the spare for a Kendon trailer that's standing up next to the bike) Thanks to all who've replied here so far. It appears...

    Can you identify this part?

Does anyone happen to know what this is? It sits in the nose of my '06, directly behind and in between the headlight reflectors. Best I can tell by examining wiring diagrams is that it's some kind of relay, but I haven't been able to confirm that. The reason I'm concerned with this bad boy is...
