    6 Speed Transmission on a Gen 2

I spend a lot of time riding two-up on twisty roads, mostly in 4th gear. With the 190/55 rear tire my bike wont even pull 5th gear below 55 mph. Dont see a need for 6th.

    Shinko tires?

While I choose to not use them on the FJR, Shinkos are my go-to tire for most of my other bikes, especially the dual sport and my commuter. Decent handling, long life and low price. I get two years / 12K highway commute miles from a set of tires thats less than $200. I think youll like them.

    Accessory Plugs

Fair enough. On all of my bikes I use 1/4 phono plugs and sockets. Simple, robust and cheap as dirt. I usually have one on the right side wired directly to battery ( fused, of course ) for use with battery tenders or tire inflators. I also have one on the left side, wired to a HeatTroller...

    Replacing clutch switch

Im not sure what youre looking at but at Partzilla the clutch switch is about $25. Are you referring to the shifter for an AE?

    The Other Shoe Has Dropped

In my opinion, removing the swing arm for maintenance is a huge waste of time and energy and totally unnecessary. The swingarm pivot is not readily exposed to the elements and does not require removal to service. OTOH, the shock linkage does demand attention, requiring periodic removal to clean...

    I Need New Boots

I liked my Sidi Canyons enough to buy a second pair. If thats not an endorsement..... Comfortable, waterproof, long lasting. Good protection and easy on-and-off.

    Deer Strikes by State

Woo Hoo! Im #1. Bummer The odds are misleading until adjusted for population density. While the odds are greater in WV, there are 5X as many deer killed in PA. This is exacerbated by no-kill zones around high population areas.

Weird - Idle Revs increase when gear selected, throttle off.

I have a wild theory: figure out a way to eliminate the neutral switch from the equation and run the scenario again. Could there be an electrical load only present when the neutral switch is on?

Running wires from front to back

I also went the Eastern Beaver route back in 06. Everything I needed from one source. Straight forward installation. Installed the fuse block to the frame near the glovebox as all my electrical needs were up front or on the handlebars.

08 Cold Idle and Oil Level Light

Adjusting the fast idle is not easy. I have vague recollections of adjusting mine. I believe I had to remove the throttle bodies to gain access. In the end it was worth the trouble as the fast idle is once again working properly.

Another no start...well starts after a few pushes of the button

My first guess is dirt or corrosion in the start button. Remove and clean first, then report back.
