    Battery position

C'mon Fred....you, of all people, know the reason for that. During prototype testing, Yamaha found that having the battery under the seat, with its electrons eminating through an atmosphere comprised of 21% oxygen, could adversely affect the time-space continuum of the throttle pulley during...

    New Seat Maker In Town:

Well, your wrong about that! I drove 2000 miles and then paid close to the $700! So there! Shows how much you know! :P I can save you some time for your new business.... While I was at Russell Seats at Shasta Lake, they told me they're getting out of the boat upholstery/boat top business...

Besieged at the beach! Damned noisemakers!

Great shots...especially that Warthog...just warms the heart knowing that for many bad guys, that was the last thing they saw coming at them. I also appreciate that photo you have with that *fine* P51 at the top of the formation....my dad flew one in WWII.

    Tragic...

-I can't believe the media didn't use the usual 'wasn't wearing a helmet' line.....perhaps they were in the minority of HD riders that do wear helmets. Regardless of that, the whole thing is unfortunate to say the least.

Bike down, totaled slider, frame damaged, 15 mph

Just caught the thread...did I miss anything? Has Fred H. already posted his obligatory 'blame the throttle pulley' message? Aw hell..I missed it!

WARNING WARNING Installation of said device might confuse patrons at the local biker bar into thinking you have a V-twin stuffed under the fairing... :dribble:

    FRS/GMRS Radio recommendations.

-Don't know what to tell you there....you can find those Midland radios all over town, blister packed, with the "5 WATTS" predominately displayed on the front of the package. I was impressed with their range and clarity...the package indicated '14 mile range' which, as we all know, is under...

    FRS/GMRS Radio recommendations.

be afraid...be very afraid.. I spent big bucks outfitting four bikes for my family, each with an Autocom Pro-7 Sport, Midland GMRS 5 watt radio, and of course all the proprietary Autocom cords/cables/headsets to 'make it work'. I chose the Midland because: 1) It has 5 watts of power, compared...

    Removing the rear axle

Mine was extremely difficult to remove the first time; had an allen wrench on one end, still had to tap it out from the opposite end....here was the problem: BAD corrosion. :angry2: Here's what the inside of the wheel looked like: For the record, I never had the bike in high water, never...

    Penguin's DH update.

-maybe not an Energizer bunny-man...more like the Terminator! To be up AND riding again in such a short amount of time is nothing short of impressive...sounds like determination runs strong in the marriage!

    Another forest rat encounter!!

They are useless, according to an article I caught in 'Ride Metric'? magazine I believe it was called...about 1.5 yrs ago (didn't suscribe to it, picked it up while on a trip..) The article was very informative, approached scientifically, using experts in audio, deer behavior- researchers, etc...

    Cell phone store cops...

Okay....in need of some education. Been noticing all the cell phone outlets/store in my area have armed guards now, on site, regardless of the cell phone carrier or company. Have they become that big of a target for the local thugs? Easier to hit than banks or savings & loans? Do I need to be...

    This sure paints an image.

Yeah, agree...looks like a troll . Just for kicks I logged on and told the guy any helmet subjected to stresses involved in a crash should be disposed of, and that if it was a 'real' posting he has some serious issues and to drop it...don't know why I wasted my time..

Good article on Gas, octane, and Ethanol

I'm surprised it took this long for such as thread to evolve... I also have concerns, remembering the Gasahol articles from Popular Science in the 70s, which as I recall, was that: it (Gasahol {10% ethanol} burned cleaner, made a little less power, was no cheaper, but hard on rubber seals...
