If you want to use aftermarket oil filters, you need this modification.
Problem: Non OEM oil filter manufacturers have changed the design of their filters in a way that makes them incompatible with the FJR. Specifically, the threaded part of the filter base, which used to be concave, is now...

MODIFIED UNION BOLTS AVAILABLE.
Finally got a furnace installed in my garage, updated my tooling and worked out the details so I can make a batch of modified union bolts for those who want them.
Cost will be $30, including 1st class USPS in USA. Price includes a new union bolt, so you don't...
Got my bike back on Tuesday, Dec. 29th. Idles smoother after valve adjustment, TBS, rear suspension linkage service. Replaced spark plugs with new iridiums, even though old ones were fine. Coolant flushed & replaced as part of the job. My friend charged $600 total parts & labor.
For those...
It's not the case in the above problem, but there have been problems with websites that have computerized programs to monitor competitors' prices and automatically raise their own if the competitor raises theirs. Trouble comes when both are doing the same thing. Last year Best Buy had an...
Bought these in Spring 2014, worn about 6 times for road riding. Hate to sell them but they are just a bit too tight on my large hands. Located in Dayton, OH. Of course, I can ship. $125. Paypal is fine.

My canyon cages mount to a large bolt on the subframe at the top and the main muffler bolt on the bottom. They would be a solid and safe way to support the rear as long as you don't have to remove the mufflers part way through a procedure.
Understand the need to keep the front wheel straight. I...
Left my '14 FJR ES with a good friend while I was on vacation so he could do valve clearance check, throttle body sync & rear suspension linkage check & lubrication. Turns out he was too busy with family stuff & didn't get it done. Thinking about picking up the bike & doing it myself now that...
Getting ready to do this service on my '14 ES. Have looked at a number of how to's on this. This thread is the best explanation yet on how the bushing just under the bolt head functions. I get it now. Thanks!

Agree with Allen. I almost always ride solo, sometines with luggage, sometimes not. The value of the ES suspension for me is the on-the-fly adjustment of damping- run it super SOFT on the straight slab and smooth out the expansion joints. Get off at an exit, go to STD for a good balance of...
There were about 85 people registered for the MSTA group. Subtract the "weather weenies" as I call them, who cancel if there is a chance of rain, and we actually had about 70.

Looked for you, Allen. I got there Thursday afternoon about 2pm. Stayed in room 102, on same side of hotel as the lobby, 2nd room from the gas station, on the ground floor.

I was with the "other" (MSTA) group, riding a '14 FJR ES. It was fun to see all the FJRs. Got acquainted with some of the FJR people. Nice group! Could have been better weather though...

If your bing carbuerettor looks like the one in the picture, it has the later float needle setup- the fuel inlet is off to the side of the cap. OTOH, if your fuel inlet is in the center of the cap, time to upgrade!
BTW, here's a Tip of the Helmet to the person who posted the comprehensive list...
Had a '62 R69 back in '68-69. This sure brings back lots of memories. Recognize the Wixom fairing. This bike is actually in excellent condition for its age. Look forward to seeing how you solve some of the problems you are sure to encounter & what replacement parts you find.
One problem I had...
Finished up my Sena 20s install on the FJR yesterday, Jul 15. I wanted to have mp3 music & GPS instructions from my Zumo 660 mixed with the radar detector audio from my Valentine one. Bluetooh the combined signal to the 20s using a Bluetooth audio dongle transmitter. Mix this audio with the...
The 20s works with Cardo by acting like a cel phone paired to the Cardo, as you said. Yes, the Cardo has to be re-paired to the user's cel phone after they are done working with the Sena. BUT
The Sena accomplishes this trick with "universal intercom pairing." It does NOT use one of the cel...
