    The FJR as a sportbike

Can't say I buy the inline 4 versus V twin argument. Japan Inc. runs I-4s and Ducati runs twoms. Japan normally wins when the displacement is equal. It may be that Ducati is outnumberd or throws less money into the equation but I don't see any clear superiority of a V twin - or any other...

    Napa Spring run 17th Feb.

We're in as long as it's not raining and as long as it's significantly warmer than it has been lately.

    Suggestions, From Uwwtahhhh

If you're going to do Highway 1, try to avoid the annual landslides or the storms that cause them. 'Course if there's a storm you could just hole up in Monterey - I could think of a lot worse things to do.

    Pre-flight mantra / affirmation?

My mantra is "Oh ****, I'm late!"

    Random thoughts...Christmas presents for me!

Maybe 90 in perforated leather if you're cruising at speed but not in stop-and-go traffic. Beyond that it's time for the mesh.

    SMOKIN DEAL !!

Well I'm jealous. I paid 9500 for an '05 with 7500 miles and without all the farkles. I'm going to pout now. Congrats!

    Another one down

Damn ZZ, that really sucks. Next time ya gotta dodge those SUVs better. I really hope there's a next time and that you get full use of the leg back. I met you as you were leaving WFO5; hope to see you at WFO6.

    2003-2006 FJR Suspension GROUP BUY!!!!!!!!!

Any provision for ride height adjustment on any of these shocks?

    More FJRs going down?

Can't really agree with your first two points. Seems like almost all the recent accidents I'm aware of didn't involve squidly behavior. Some are unexplainable, given that the rider's skill far exceeded the level required. I've been on rides with members of this forum and the pace has always...

    No riding before buying?

Doesn't sound like you'd get good service from that dealer. I haven't heard of any '06 tickers, though. I got the same runaround on my Connie - sign ze papers and bring it back if you don't like it. I don't know if they would have taken it back or not. Do you trust this guy? If at this...

To get an FJR or not to get an FJR, that is the question

You're right, but the "want" list will have the wife shopping at the thrift store and the kids won't be gettin' no kolledge edgycashun.

    Rear-ended

Glad you're only sore - coulda been a lot worse. If the insurance company gives you any sh*t about your gear, tell 'em they'd have been paying a lot more for your injuries if you hadn't been wearing it. Sounds like a total. You should get pretty close to the price of a new bike. If not...

New to group - looking for advice to buy one

Welcome Nick. Windshields got bigger in '04 and again in '06. I'd recommend a larger one for pre-'06, but try it out and see what you think Suspension improved in '04 and added a glove box. Nice improvements in '06 except for linked brakes. Petrol consumption for me in US gallons and miles...

FJR 2006 side cases (& handlebar Vibration stuff !!)

I have a friend in Abu Dhabi who can get stuff shipped to him APO. Let me know if you'd like to go that route and drive over there to pick them up.

Audivox CCS-100 not recommended for FJR??

+1 to what Scooter and KaitsDad said. Virtually impossible for it to strand you unless something mechanical got badly jammed. Just don't see how it could happen with a decent installation. I never had a problem and it ounds like there's upwards of 100 other FJR riders who can say the same...
