    Mercury refill

    Good... it shouldn't be available.

    slow speed manuveurs

You only get the one front pad's friction IF you apply the rear more than a set amount of pedal pressure. Going straight and applying the rear, you should be able to feel that set amount of pressure. Once you get the feel, you should be able to apply less than that amount while using the rear to...

    Concourse 14 owners to be...

Reliably rumored is an oxymoron, moron. ;) And since I'm the one who said it that makes me a... uh... nevermind. :)

    Concourse 14 owners to be...

Well, ta ta to you as the C14 will have hydraulic lifters... reliably rumored. Let us know how you like it. These FJR folks are a bunch-o-pisspots anyway. ;)

    FJR Focus Group

No... the reason BMW's are more expensive is German labor laws and other factors that tend to slow their entire economy. Even if you could buy either bike for the same money, I'd pick the FJR... (except I like the BMW front suspension).

Down Force from over size windshield

No kidding...? ;) Yet another vote for leaving things stock. Unless you're the size of a barn, why would anyone need a larger windshield? Mine's full down most of the time. Only in a strong headwind, extreme cold or rain do I raise it. If that's not enough... consider a Goldwing or other...

    Mirrors on 07.

I love it when people ask how to fix unintended consequences of "improving" their bikes. Makes me even happier staying stock. "Perfect is the enemy of good." ;) Seriously, I hope you find a suitable solution....

FJR saved my butt last night

Is that the ABS!? If so, I've felt it and was at no where near maximum braking. In fact, I was stopping pretty normal for me....

Motorcycle Consumer News is going to poll FJR owners next month

Hmmm... I thougt you upgraded your seat? Must be you didn't like the seat too well. Is the intent of this MCN survey: a. To help Yamaha produce a better product? b. To rate the FJR better than the owners of X fill in the blank X rated their bikes? c. To help those in the market for a new...

Difference Between a Porcupine and a BMW?

Keep ****** around with cars driven by the ego-involved and you're gonna get hurt bad. Those dipshits will think nothing of running you off the road and just keep going. "Oops.. not my fault."

    Yamaha Generations

Yes, very nice pics. My folks would not have gotten onto a motorcycle if I had paid them... even so much as for a pic.

    shift snick or shift clunk

Wow... 200 whole miles and it's still not broken in!? Who'da thunk?

    shift snick or shift clunk

Mine snicks... just not as neatly as does my Aprilia. If you want to experience clunk, ride any BMW with the K12 engine. It's all relative....

Me and my FJR got spanked today

I agree fully with the stated limitations of the FJR as a sportbike. I even said as much in a previous thread, causing a few angry replies of denial. But I've never said the FJR is anything except an excellent bike. The FJR is excellent because it has no bad traits that I can think of...

    FJR Riders and crashing

Ok, here's mine: Rural "T" intersection... riding from right on top of "T", I want to turn left. Intersection looks a bit dicey; tar and chip with the tar on the surface from vehicle traffic and the pavement was crowned about twice what it ought to have been. So I slow to very slow... maybe 5...

    Spare Key(s) While Touring

What's to keep the bags from accidentally opening while riding? Is that per an AU law?

Motorcycle Consumer News is going to poll FJR owners next month

I don't think so, but you may have filled one out for the pre-'06 model. If MCN was going to publish the results, that's what they'd have said. No mention of an FJR owner poll on the cover of any '05, '06, or '07 MCN issue, nor in the article index in the Dec. '05 or Dec. '06 issue. So, I...

Motorcycle Consumer News is going to poll FJR owners next month

I think they allow polls from non-suscribers... is someone going to put the form here? Well? Whatcha gonna say? EDIT: This is in the June 2007 issue.
