I'm sure the new Concours will be a perfectly fine bike.

In gen-ii release. Just like any other new product... the market place will really show what needs to be tweaked.

Watch your temper. I have cows.

You should read Ancestor by Scott Sigler :)

"That sure as **** ain't no cow!"

The biggest turnoff for me about any kawi is the really short valve adjustment intervals...Otherwise i probabaly be on the list of those who jumped ship.

Well, ta ta to you as the C14 will have hydraulic lifters... reliably rumored.

Let us know how you like it.

These FJR folks are a bunch-o-pisspots anyway. ;)

...are lame.
 I came into this thread to ask if you were lost, and direct you to the Connie thread.....Is that thread from the early 80's like the bike, or is that finally getting a makeover this year too!! :p

I would like to know the source of that reliable rumor since it has been floating around since

Day 1 and there hasn't been anything from Kawasaki that would suggest the rumor is true.

I don't really see any need for hydraulic lifters. All they need to do is imitate what Yamaha has done with the FJR. Very few have reported making any adjustment at the valve check intervals on their FJR.

Yea, like our genII bikes have no problems at all.

Reliably rumored is an oxymoron, moron. ;)

And since I'm the one who said it that makes me a... uh... nevermind. :)

I have sat on that new Connie, and let's just say that anyone who gives up their FJR for this ugly mutt, needs proffesional help.

no reliable info out yet or ride reports yet-nothing wrong with competion-if the finished product is a better bike for the money than the FJR Yamaha (and other OEM's) will have to improve their produc as well or lose market share

Do you guys really follow all those "suggestions"

I don't.

Never took anything in for a 600 miles check up.

I might have my valvels checked at 20k unless I have reason to do so earlier.

If I liked the looks and ride and didn't have a FJR, I'd buy the Kawi. I loved the ride I had on the ZX14 and liked my ZRX and other Kawi's not to mention I prefer the Honda/Kawi dealer I've used for years (who does my FJR work if needed).

I change oil/filter every 3k.

Looking forward to possibly sitting on the couch. I prefer function over form. If it was that ugly, why did you even bother sitting on it?

Oh that can’t go unanswered. Some therapy may be needed alright, by feejers frightened by that fierce predatory face soon to be released by big K! Course, the predator’s face is not what one sees when typically riding “in tow”. :D

AIGF :bike:

sa I am with Galazyblue on the valve intervals. I was told by my local Kawi Dealer that it was going to be the same as the zx14..(6000 mile intervals!!!!!!!!!!!!). I have owned my share of Kawi's(still have one and love it)..A sport tourer with 6000 mile intervals is not for me. Also have any of you checked out some of the pics out there of the C14 with the bags off (EEEK!!!). And checked out the rear tail section (I mean lack of). I am sure it will have good hp numbers but I wonder what they will actually be..... It is a slightly detuned ZX14 motor with Varible Valve Timing(more detuning)with shaft drive(less hp to the tire)....So my guess of the dyno results at the tire will be mid to low 140's. I am interested to see what it ends up having.

Now here is my take. If I was interested in a speed and Hp race with a C14 (I really am not... else I wouldn't own this sport tourer......I have another bike for that sort of stuff). BUT if I was...... I would take off my 4 into 2 heavy exhaust and heavy center stand. Strap on a 4 into2 into 1 carbon fiber/titanium full system, a power commander and tune it up. I bet the FJR and C14 would be neck and neck. A sport tourer needs to do a lot of things good and only one thing great (that is sport tour). The FJR is great at sport touring and very very very good at the rest(performance, handling and looks ect..). It seems like the only thing the C14 is going to be great at is HP number's(within the sport touring realm is all). It only has a 5.9 gallon tank, needs to many valve adjustments and needs to have a better designed tail section with and without bags. JUST MY TAKE ON THE NEW C14...I AM A VERY NEW OWNER OF MY 07 FJR AND COULD OF WAITED FOR THE C14 BUT CHOSE NOT TO BASED ON MY ABOVE RESEARCH.
