Huge +1 on Held gloves. I have a pair of the original tan/black Steve gloves (the new version is the Steve II). Outstanding quality and very, very comfortable. Wash them with mild soapy water and use a good leather conditioner like Lexol once or twice a year and they'll last forever.

Thanks for the feedback, folks! I think the conclusion is that that's the way it is. I think another conclusion that can be drawn is that it's a poor circuit design. Understandable if this were a 20+ year old bike, but one would think that there'd be considerably more isolation on the turn...
