    TUFF SHED Ranch Garage

Thanks. I was thinking on the 3-5 range. Nice to hear I'm high. Was that demo/frame/prep/pour, or just frame/prep/pour?

    TUFF SHED Ranch Garage

2 dogs, 2-3 bikes, piles of parts and a fridge full og beer :drinks: Actually, my yard is laid out for a garage. I have no idea why they didn't build one when they poured the pad, but I'm not planning on moving out of here any time soon.

SOMEBODY I KNOW PAINTED THEIR FJR

I'm starting to think it's Brians since I haven't seen him on a ride in awhile :P

    TBAR install

One goes over, 2 go under (or vice versa but I think that;s right). I did have a friend that tried to force all 3 under and nothing would line up.

    TUFF SHED Ranch Garage

Got hammered with a bit of bad news. The Repblic says my 3" slab isn't enough, so I'm going to have to tear it out and install a 4" reinforced slab. Anyone have an idea of what that might cost in the 16x20 range?

    Forks in the triple clamp

It can be anywhere from flush to .400 above. Factory is flush on an '07. Consider it confirmed B)

Where are the steering head stops?

The steering stop is on the bottom of the neck. This is a pic of the one on the XS, but its in the same place as the FJR's. The lower tripple tree has protrusions that hit the stop to stop handlebars from turning.

Damper Rod Adjusting Nut Distance? Fork Oil Level?

screw the damper rod all the way into the cap by hand, then tighten the jam nut. I think you're trying to over think things. As far as the level goes, I just run at stock settings.

    New grips....

You'll like the Grip Puppies. They are veny comphy indeed. I tend to run them in the summer months and remove them for the winter months. They do block a small portion of the heat from the grips.

    New grips....

So I'm not going to argue, neither should anyone else on my behalf :P I do not claim to be an expert on anything. Experiences are different everywhere. Some will have problems with the FJR's faulty kickstand, some won't. Some grips will probably slip with hair spray, mine never have...

    New grips....

I must disagree. I've been using hair spray for years to install grips. Not only do they slide on easy, when the chemicals evaporate, it's like glue. I've ridden in a lot of toad chokers, over many years, and have never had a grip slip. My bikes have sat outside in the rain for years as well...

Front Tank Bolt with stripped head

You can use a slightly larger allen head socket. I believe one of the SAE ones will work. You put it on an extension and drive it into the head with light taps from a hammer. That will give you the purchase to remove the f'ed up screws. Then install new screws with the knowledge that they do NOT...

    New grips....

I put on Honda grips and have no plans of changing again. If course they are heated grips B)

Pack a topbox? Or pack a bag to put IN the topbox?

I use the Yami liners in the sidebags and just pop those out at the hotel. I find it's easier, and safer for the bags. Doing it that way is less likely to scratch the bags IMO, and more space in the hotel room. I will on occasion bring in the Givi backbox.

How do the figure out the correct shims at the factory?

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure they have a special tool that makes it a snap to pop the shims in and out. Especially for those little hands that have done the same task a million times already.
