    85 Octane in The FJR

I would say closer to a quart (from switching from one grade to another); it's just going to be the contents within the hose or maybe a little residual from the within the pump (itself).

Lost the Oil drain plug doing 80!

Reusing the original crush washer is okay too (flipping the old one over; not so much). Running with the drained oil (all over the road), you may have also drained part of the (fifth) quart that doesn't drain during a normal oil change. Maybe when you put the fresh four quarts in, you were...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I think by the time you buy (all the stuff) in their promotion I was into it for a little over thirty dollars. It, by far lasts longer than anything else made to get the black back, so for me, I would say yes. You have to wash the part, getting all and any dirt, oil, wax off, prior to...

What did you do to your FJR today?

My bags were getting a little faded (some sun, some age), and I had previously tried this product on my Olds Bravada (which had lasted six months so far and still looks good), so I gave it a whirl: pre-treatment left, post treatment right.

AC Delco Battery Sale 1/2 Price

When ordering it stated shipped in two to five weeks (I believe that's what was stated); the price was so good, I didn't have a problem waiting.

Confirmation of 1st Valve Adjustment Interval

26000; dealer is 'blowing smoke'. Just say no.

    Conti Tires

There should be a date code on the sidewall; if they aren't too old, I would give them some consideration (especially if you mount yourself). I mean, if you absolutely hate them, you wouldn't be out much.

"Consumer Reports:" Yamaha most reliable motorcycle !

CR is throwing 'darts' again; sample size is grossly inadequate to create meaningful numbers (IMO). Without listing what constitutes a fault/problem it is just meaningless statistics.

Now that was cool; thanks for sharing.

    warm digits options

I've got the First Gear gloves (with the wires) and a Heat Troller, the wires are a necessary evil, but boy are those gloves nice (warm and acceptably flexible for good feel and bike operation of all switches and controls).

    Possible Bridgestone Tire issues?

Bridgestone tires Ad slogan: Bridgestone. Passion for excellence. Now, taking it one step further (their commercial), with paraphrase: Troy Aiken seems to like it................RossKean, not so much. Giddyup Ross. Sorry but that looks like a manufacturing defect.

An old machine shop (and much more)

Great link, thanks. My Dad owned and operated a small machine shop for forty years (I worked summers there during college, late '60's); brought back memories.

    New Yamaha Bolt

If it were a twin I wanted, I would go the 'full monty' and get a Harley (but that is what choice is about); you make your choice(s) and you take your chances.

Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid...

A pint is plenty (with some left over); keep it tightly capped and it will store just fine.

Gasoline futures? on the friggen rise again

Well, gasoline futures are affected by the global market (not the U.S.). Emerging markets, China, India, Russia and South America, all craving petroleum; fluctuations will continue, but overall trend, up.
