    PR2 source?

My local shop is telling me that they cannot get these tires for several weeks. I need them now. Is there a shortage? A good source on the net? Maybe next time I will get 2 sets at a time :) Thanks!

    I'm Free, I'm Free!

I have a garage in my basement & for the 1st time I left my bike down there all winter. This is the 1st time I have not ridden (weather permitting) through the winter. After the snow fianlly melted a few weeks ago I had to wait for the backyard to dry out - there is a steep grassy hill I have to...

    Long Ride Comfort

fwiw I've had my fjr for almost 2 years now. I've been riding for over 40 years & this is the 1st bike I have ever had a custom (Russell) seat made for. Light year difference.

    Why I didn't ride yesterday

Its this one: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...17&hl=ctfjr Fred WPosted Sep 14 2009, 02:30 PM Good save, But, why would you put the bike on a lift to change the oil? Fred - I have gotten used to changing it on the lift. In a typical riding season I change my oil 6 or 7...

    Why I didn't ride yesterday

Even though it was a very nice day yesterday, I decided I really wanted to change my oil (I am semi-anal about it) I pulled the FJR into the basement garage & had to make 2 runs at the motorcycle lift (the grass was wet & didn't get a good enough start to make it all the way the 1st time). So...

    Dropped my bike X2

sorry to hear your sad tale of woe Trojan. . . mine was only a couple of months old when it fell off my lift :( I found a great body shop nearby that repainted the side and Givi top cases for $240.00 - he matched the Yammie paint perfectly so now the Givi really looks like part of the set...

    Motorcycle Accidents and Riding gear

OK Slappy, I'll buy that - but you left off ". . . for me" Some might say that the number of accidents you have had indicate either overconfidence or lack of mastery, maybe not. Maybe you are just unlucky. Some say we make our own luck - I believe that.

    Ride tomorrow afternoon?

Looks like a nice ride - sorry I couldn't make it. 6 hours on those roads would be a great way to start the week. Too bad its 6 hours riding time from Connecticut to get there & back.

Hit a deer with my '03 pride and joy

Greetings from the east coast Bill. Very sorry to hear about your excursion & injuries but glad to hear you will be ok! Forest rats are a big concern out here also (and what keeps me alert riding in the woods). Be well & good luck with the new ride!

    Cure for Speedo Error?

Several years ago I purchased a "Yellow Box" from a company in Australia. It is a electronic correcting device that goes in line from the wheel sensor. You can make your speedo read anything you want +/- ahh here is the link https://www.yellr.com/ - they still exist

    1st oil change

LOL When I picked my bike up at D&H last year I rode to St Louis & did the 1st service at Knifemaker's. We had to put a pipe extention on the ratchet to break the oil plug free. Mighty big factory gorillas!

17 year old daughter does beartooth pass

Sounds like you guys had a great time - good for you! I almost ended my marriage when I bought my second son a motorcycle when he was a senior in high school (16 years ago). Wifey didn't like that at all. . . In 2002 we took a similar ride together from Connecticut. It was just over 8000 miles...

    Putting on the miles

I have long given up trying to meet some else's expectations of what, how, where or how long I ride. I enjoy a spirited ride yet I'm no canyon carver. I really like LD riding though I'll never ride an iron butt. I currently ride an FJR but have given up criticising others' choices. On a nice...

    Deer Season

It is amazing that you kept the bike upright! The closest call I've had in 40+ years of riding occured less than 1 mile from my house. One of those rats jumped out of the woods right in front of me while my feet were on the highway pegs. I pulled a groin muscle pulling my feet back to the pegs...

    Going to the Sun Highway

After 4 attempts I finally made it it in '04: https://www.molaver.org/gnp1.htm If it weren't so damn far I do it again tomorrow! The road is really awesome and so it the hiking. I'm a girly man about hiking alone in bear country so I only did a few small trails. Have a great time btw I stayed...

    Cabot Trail

It truly is a great ride. Not the fastest or twistiest but a load of fun. We took the ferry fron St John NB to Yarmouth & took a few days to ride the circumference of the island. Met some great people staying in B&B's. Then rode home via Moncton & down the coast of Maine. Too bad that was in my...
