I have a brand new set of Z6 Interacts I need to scuff up. Also, just finished the 32K service and I'd like to play a little bit. Anybody in the area interested in getting out for 2 - 3 hours tomorrow afternoon. Supposed to stop raining tomorrow morning. If it doesn't, I don't think I'll bother to take the brand new tires out in the wet.

Dan

Dan,

What did you have in mind? If this tropical storm spew clears out in the AM I'm pretty sure I'd be up for climbing on a 2 wheeler of some brand or another and heading out for a little.

Current forecasts show the rain stops around midnight and should be cloudy but dry all day tomorrow

Nothing specific in mind. Will meet anywhere people would like. I've been following this principle this year - get on bike and start riding, when you get to the first road you've never been on... take it.

If the rain stops tonight, I'd be happy to leave earlier. Maybe head west and north and eventually wind up going up VT5 for awhile. But again, where isn't really important.

BTW Fred, remind me to tell you about my adventures with Raincoat when I see you.

OK, we'll assume the current forecast is accurate. How about the General Store in New Boston at 10AM?

Well, Dan and I were the only groovy people to show up at 10AM in New Boston. Too bad... cause you squares all missed a really nice ride and the weather was near perfect. It started cool but once the fog broke and the sun came out it was plenty warm for me.

We logged a nifty 230 miles in ~ 6 hours riding time. Here' the track log:

After lunch Dan shared all of his secret back roads with me. Some of them were extremely cool, like Roby Road, connecting 114 in Sutton with 103 in Warner. I've ridden past the road signs before on both ends and just never made the connection. Also Schoodac Rd to Poverty Plains Rd to... well there were a bunch of connecting roads. Those were great. A couple of roads at the end were pretty beat up though and had me thinking hard about suspension upgrades. ;)

Thanks for leading me around, Dan. It was a fun day.

Thanks for coming. I had a good time. Credit for a number of those back roads goes to Skip Wareham - in Dual Sport mode. Sorry about thise bad ones at the end. I have to use them all the time and I just accept them as inevitable.

Looks like a nice ride - sorry I couldn't make it. 6 hours on those roads would be a great way to start the week. Too bad its 6 hours riding time from Connecticut to get there & back.
