How to resurrect Yamaha FJR1300 that's been parked in my garage for 7 years?

Essentially forcing fluid from the bleeder to the reservoir under pressure. Will sometimes push air bubbles out through reservoir. Sometimes, weighting down the brake pedal (or bungieing the front brake lever) overnight will allow bubbles to escape.

How to resurrect Yamaha FJR1300 that's been parked in my garage for 7 years?

Linked brakes for 2006+. First bleed the linked lower front right piston pair using the rear brake pedal (and rear reservoir). Then bleed the rear caliper. Two bleed screws on the right caliper. Lower is activated ONLY by rear brake. If that doesn do it, you might need to vacuum bleed or...

    Ticking sound after valve adjustment

Never heard about this being an issue with anything as recent as 2014.

    Garauld Accessory Catalog Showcase

Garauld is retired. Give the guy a break. For a 50 lb dog plus carrier, it is a lot of weight on the subframe and up high. Trailer might be the best bet.

    Ticking sound after valve adjustment

I would see if they could tell you their measured clearances, the size of shims removed, the number (out of 16) they changed, and the size they replaced them with. That would go a long way toward telling me if they messed up. For what it is worth, it is fairly rare that ANY valve adjustments...

Question: Anyone else having problems finding/logging into this FORUM?

How are you accessing it? I haven't had trouble. Try the following link. If it doesn't work, you may have to clear your cache... I think there might be an issue with the "start" page which I don't use. https://www.fjriders.com/forums/

need help, FJR won't start, don't hear the fuel pump when putting contact on

Is this the main ground from battery to the frame? Or the connection from the negative cable to the battery? Or somewhere else? The description of your problem does not sound like a poor ground, unless it was the return (negative) from the fuel pump. Let us know if you have specific...

    TPMS Mounting

Just read through some of the FAQ: Looks like battery replacement might not be easy. Also can't set different alarm levels for the two tires - probably not a big deal. My motorcycle has a different tire pressure for the 2 tires. Can I set different independent pressure alarms for the 2 tires...

    TPMS Mounting

I read some reviews on this model. They weren't especially good - mostly issues with the valve stems. Are the sensor batteries replaceable? No question that the internal sensors should be able to provide more accurate temperature values, but I expect the overall weight is just as high as the...

    TPMS Mounting

I could probably do that but it puts it a bit further out for reading and I am concerned about exposure to the weather with some of the reports of the unit not being 100% waterproof. Going to try the space to the right of the LCD first.

    TPMS Mounting

Looks good. Unfortunately, the only mount that came with the one I got is designed for a round handlebar and not adaptable to a flat surface. I'll probably attach it directly to the space to the right of the LCD. Likely attach with 2-sided 3M tape.

    TPMS Mounting

I am connecting it to switched power in my Fuzeblock under the seat - power leads will have to be extended in order to reach. I agree on the voltage display. One decimal is more than sufficient. Really just want to watch for changes indicating you are overtaxing with accessories, evidence of...

    Heading South

Looks like an epic trip! I don't envy the high temperatures currently being experienced in the west! Ours (in New Brunswick) are also well above normal, but not as hot as the BC interior or the US Pacific Northwest. I am heading east (to Newfoundland and Labrador) in a week or so and I...

    TPMS Mounting

Very helpful, thanks. Unfortunately, your elegant mounting solution doesn't work for my Gen II. Great comments on the voltmeter accuracy (I already checked it) and the pressure accuracy - I haven't completed the installation yet so was not able to evaluate accuracy for the pressure on mine...

    Physics of Cornering...and Recovering

With respect to the linked brakes for Gen II and III/IV... The right front lower piston pair is activated via the rear brake pedal (along with the rear brake). The rear brake IS NOT linked to the front brake lever/master cylinder. It activates JUST the two front-left piston pairs and the top...

    TPMS Mounting

Aluminum is thin, but those screws are normally recessed. Easy enough to check if I decide I want it closer for better visibility. I have the Aluminum sheet - probably 3/32".

    TPMS Mounting

Are you wiring it to a switched circuit or only plugging it in when you ride? Parasitic draw isn't likely to be huge, but would deplete the battery over time. (I will check current draw when I install it, but I am connecting to a switched circuit on my Fuzeblock.) When I got mine, I thought...

    RIP marcusorelius

I never met him but I remember him writing about his travels on the bike with Duke and Dutchess. Sorry to hear of his passing.

    TPMS Mounting

Did you need to get longer screws? (They are recessed in the brake/clutch reservoir mounts) Gives me another simple option, thanks.
