Wake up early or set the DVR

No - one lone marshall ended up pushing him on the track, and when the bike wouldn't fire, (from memory) he parked it on the inside of the track. He may have arrived back in the pits on the back of a 'service scooter' as a pillion - a common way of getting riders/drivers back to the pits in...

Wake up early or set the DVR

Stoner didn't get his bike running (see post #11 above, and others too) and he didn't get help to get it running. Here's your answer (a direct quote from the article referenced above by Crash Cash https://www.superbikeplanet.com/2011/Apr/110403rydernotes2.htm ) and the picture I posted shows...

Thanks for that link - a pretty good summary of the way I saw it.

Wake up early or set the DVR

Rossi came from a long way back and lost the front, taking Stoner out. Both bikes ended up pretty well on top of Rossi, and Stoner picked up his bike. The marshalls then clustered around Rossi getting him started, and gave only token assistance to Stoner. Of course Rossi, being the sportsman...

    MotoGP Losers!

And Crash Cash, just how many races do you think we would see without the sponsors being involved? Of course it's not fun for us watchers, but racing at any professional level has to provide a marketing springboard for the sponsors or it fails.

    Put Out to Pasture

Bobby, thanks for sharing your story. May God bless you as you head along a new road. I would love to be able to play something musical, and have that to look forward to one day when my riding days end - make the most of this talent you have, and share this gift with all who will listen.

    Sometimes a Ticker doesn't Tick

"It sure was good while it lasted" :clapping: :clapping: Exskibum - loved it. Warchild - good to see you're still out there. Enjoy winter everyone, and maybe you'll another Ivan along soon to keep you amused. Did anyone think to ask his opinion about car tyres on an FJR  :D...

Reminder to stay safe this Christmas season

Yep, I think I did. It gets to do the rounds on ASustralian forums around this time of the year, which is a good thing, and each time I see it I am moved to share it again. (Might have something to do with losing my younger brother in a car smash when we were both in our 20's. Late at night, he...

Reminder to stay safe this Christmas season

The Christmas season has well and truly started here in Australia - Christmas parties, looking forward to the holidays and seeing family and friends. This is just a reminder to stay safe - us, and our loved ones: https://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Z2mf8DtWWd8

    South Africa

There are a few, but I can't recall their names at the moment. I'll try and find them for you. You might also find some on the FJROwners Forum - the UK based one: https://www.fjrowners.ws/phpbb2/portal.php David (ex RSA many years ago)

Mt. Baldy = no rear brake.......

Like Bootsman said, the pedal is prone to sticking if not kept clean, and the drag can cause you to lose the rear brake quickly with heavy use. I have the practice of not using my rear brake for the last few hundred metres of a ride, then immediately checking the disk temperature. This is the...

    Going to the Dark Side

Surly, I believe there is one in Aussie and if a picked up a good used rim I would probably have some fun giving it a try, but no, I don't do enough k's to seriously warrant a permanent change.

    Going to the Dark Side

I always smile at these comments. If this really is idiotic, does it means only idiots visit this thread  Can't be, because I enjoy reading about other peoples experimenting. Sometimes it can save me lots of $$ and pain, and sometimes it leads the way to a new way of looking at...

    Bikeeffects.com

And another happy customer. Did a small 'group buy' on some stuff he sells for a few guys here in Aussie. Great communication by email, prompt despatch, and the products arrived in Aussie only a day or two after the charge hit the credit card - and you know how fast the banks charge. Thanks Jeff!

So where do you do your racing????

Time to revive this thread. The Queensland Government has a new series of biking ads (well, maybe just one) on TV. This is a longer version focussing on Protective Gear: https://www.motorcyclesafety.qld.gov.au/ind..._gear_in_action It's a shame seeing an FZ6 eat the asphalt/bitumen/tarmac...
