    1.3 Gallon Gas Tank Reserve

Fred...when you are away from base, there is no choice...I usually put in just enough to get back, but if it's a really long ride, a fill up can run $40...! Also...the gas is contracted off the local economy, so no ethanol. The octane ratings are indicated at 93 for regular and 98 for premium...

    1.3 Gallon Gas Tank Reserve

Here in Korea the gas is @$3.75 for regular on the US Army base. Off base it's about $6.50 a gallon. This by no means inhibits anyone here from driving...

Have 10 months/10K on my Race Tech suspension. Any reccomondations on maintenance? Fork oil/seal change? Anything need to be done with the G3-S shock? Anyone having any issues that I need to watch out for? That being said, it is a differnt bike with this set-up, and if you were ever on the...

What attracted me to the FJR?

Many things....but mostly my memory of the original FJ...always wanted one of those "back in the day"... Met a new riding buddy this week...riding a classic FJ in fantastic original condition... I can only hope that my ride looks and works as well as this FJ in 26 years....yeah, it's...

    Just turned 30

Mike, I've done a few reports in the past, and dug up this one from when the bike was new. Funny I rode this same route last Monday in half the time stated on this report. Amazing what we learn over the years. Roads outside of Seoul are very much countryside, and lot's of "mountians" (like...

    Just turned 30

30 thousand miles that is... I know, small potatoes for many here, but I live on a relatively small "island" (South Korea - water on 3 sides, and a dipshit to the north)... ....walk to work, so really no riding on work days... ...every one of those miles was for pleasure, and pleasure it was...

Wake up early or set the DVR

9PM Sunday night here in Seoul... We get it on Star Sports. The sound mix is terrible, they have the commentary so low the TV has to be cranked to understand what they are saying, not to mention the British/Scottish accents so hard to understand... Anyhow...maybe with no football this year...

    helmet lock

I have been using Bolt Lock. The peg bolt lock mount fits exactly on the the small bolt on the top of the tail deck, and it comes with a short cable for helmets, a long cable that I use to secure jackets and other stuff. The helmet sits just fine on the tail deck. Having said that the gun locks...

    Emissions stds & testing

So with my PAIR cover install, I believe that I stripped most of the EC stuff off the Feej. No CATs, no PAIR system and of course the wonderful Power Commander 3...(glad I live in Korea or the tree hugger patrol would put me away for a long while). So had some spare time today and took it over...

Valve check, PAIR cover install, rear rotor & tire change, rear pads

I really like the exhaust, the weight difference was substantial...details on that and the whole exhaust/Race Tech suspension install by same mechanic here. Also, with all do respect to Jeff/Bike Effects, I found the Galfer SS lines, full set for $300 here.

Valve check, PAIR cover install, rear rotor & tire change, rear pads

Thanks Geez...great idea! Ray....great points...I did the obligatory caliper rebuilds and fluid changes at the 2 year mark per the manual. I discussed the need to change the lines per the manual at 4 years with my mechanic, and we decided to do this at the end of this season giving me about 4.5...

Anybody ever rent a car in europe?

Europe has some great roads...driving is easy, but the tolls are steep. Went to the MotoGP in Barcelona last year & drove to the track about 60KM from the city. Then drove across Spain and back, north to south. GPS is a must, and makes all the difference... Had great service with these...

Valve check, PAIR cover install, rear rotor & tire change, rear pads

It’s spring & time to get ready for the season. Big thanks to FJR1300.info for detailed valve check documentation as well as 08FJR4ME (Dave – Wyn-Pro) for the PAIR covers and Bigfoot. If you have not seen Wyn-Pro’s fantastic work, I encourage you to do so, it is sublime. Also thanks to Dave and...

    FJRF008: Cam Chain Tensioner Survey

A – the model year of your FJR 2007 B – the number of miles on your FJR when the cam chain noise became apparent - no real noise (perhaps a bit loud when cold) & have 29,280 on the clock C – what action did you take, i.e., replace the CCT yourself, have the dealer do the work, ignore the...

    WTB - Rear Brake Rotor

Mine warped as well. $123 from Tony O at the Sportscenter. Replaced the pads and redid the seals in caliper too. Some things are just not worth worrying about.
