    removing steering head cap nut

Bike on centerstand, bars full right (it will end up there anyhow), torque away.

    Highway Peg Scraping question

Which is why mine retracted when touching.

Unlocked the sport without saddlebags, really? Top case better?

Not bragging rights, it just happens. Flat, banked, cambered, and even reverse camber. I hate when the pegs drag, that is why I have a Penske adjusted all the way up. I have not dragged the pegs on the street since getting the Penske and Race Tech gold valves, but did a few times on the track.

Unlocked the sport without saddlebags, really? Top case better?

I can feel the shift in weight from side to side transitions with the bags on. I almost always have the bags off. It is far worse with the topcase attached. I think it is the wind resistance more than the weight, but it is DEFINITELY there. I like the look of the bike with the bags off. You have...

Water Pump Weeping after 160,000 Miles

That is a lot of miles. Sounds like a good design to me. Oh, sounds like your weep is a drip.

    Highway Peg Scraping question

Maybe these pictures will help you out: My peg vibrated down even though I had it all the way up. Not a problem on the street, but on the track is a different story. With the highway pegs up, the normal pegs will scrape first. With the highway pegs down, the tips will scrape first. This is with...

Give Marty 'Oface' a Get-outta-jail Card? (Poll)

As much as I think know the admin here tend to be overzealous in their treatment of minor offenders, this case is different. He practically begged them to ban him and all they did was give him a time out and reduced posting rights. Sometimes you get what you ask for. I say, give him one more...

    Audiovox CC chain connector question

This is the bestest way. The chain needs to be free to rotate so the pull is uniform.

If You Could Reinvent The FJR What Would You Change?

Almost every gripe that I have can and has been fixed by the aftermarket. The seat was good for about 50 miles, so I got a Baldwin aftermarket seat. The gages have everything I want, but mostly the air temp gage keeps me happy. I added cruise control, so that is taken care of. I found the stock...

    Garauld Hiway Peg Mounting Plates

Just for interest, had the FJR on the track (streets of willow) yesterday, and my right highway peg vibrated down (nut needs to be TIGHT or pegs zip tied up), and even down, only touched when at max lean in the bowl at turn 8.

    Braking Technique

Do any of you actually ride on the track? Enjoy your rear brake, I choose not to. It is not good for spirited riding, only panic stops. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

    Fork Seal & Bushing Replacement

I just want to report that I felt no ill effect of no center bushing and I pushed it hard today. Tight turns, and high speed sweepers, and so far no leaks. Carry on.

    Fork Seal & Bushing Replacement

Holy thread Resurrection Batman! Just did my forks today and I could not find the Pilot exhaust tip, so I tried a different exhaust tip from Pepboys and it did not fit. Long story short, I did not install the center bushing, and I will post back on how it feels. Used 2 inch abs to drive the...

Fork Seal issues. Grrr.... Please help

I would check the alumimum cup at the bottom of both forks. It does not always come out and may not be setting correctly.

    Braking Technique

I never use my rear brake above about 20mph. I have braked so hard on my previous sportbikes, that the rear wheel actually comes off the ground. The rear brake does not do much in that case. I have also seen people apply the rear brake coming too hot into a turn and slide the rear, and then...

Fork Seal issues. Grrr.... Please help

You guys have jinxed me. Found both seals leaking. Bought the seals and bushings for $65 from Ron Ayres. I hope my center bushing comes out easy!!! I will use the medium slide hammer technique and hope they do not get jammed.

Buyers Flipping your good deal. Make you mad?

I sold a seat on this forum for a great deal and the guy is flipping it for $100 more just one week later. Would that make you mad, or just par for the course? I started off mad, and now I am ambivalent. I believe in paying it forward. What do you think?

    My new riding partner

Good on you to get your wife to ride her own bike and to keep riding it. Got my wife a Triumph Street Triple in 2012 and she loves that bike. She rides faster than Hardleys now and most cars, but still not up to sportbike speed. We will be doing a Reg Pridmore CLASS class in April at Streets of...

    I'm done with FJRForum mods

Sure it was. It was April 1st after all. I enjoyed the sarcasm. The thread title change, not so much.

    Giving It the Two-Fingers

No need on the street for two fingers on the clutch, at least for me. Two fingers on the brake is a different story. That allows you to blip the throttle while downshifting and simultaneously apply the brake. Not needed on the street either, but I do it all the time. Same as heal and toeing...
