    Head Knocking

FWIW I have the same issue on my '05. Noticed the brake clunk this season. Noticed the road bump clunk today on a long ride.

Biker Shot in Road Rage Incident

Dude, what's he supposed to do... pull the gun outta the tank bag and walk up to the car? That's guaranteed not to end well. I think the lesson-learned here is don't walk up to anybody's car window in a dispute.

Two M.C. Fatalities on my Patch Friday

Wow, that was an awesome post. I usually don't read long posts but that was a beautiful story. I congratulate you for being able to put feelings into words like that. Hopefully your teacher can get over the tragedy in time.

    Harley Ride report

I think we have some stiff competition out there! But I'll do my part for the team. Here's a good one: Harley Davidson - the most efficient means to turn gasoline into noise without the side effect of horsepower.

    FJR bashing

Exactly... that's why we have NEPRTs. It's fun! Nobody seriously cares what other dudes ride.

    FJR bashing

FJR's and ST's are always held up for comparison in mags and elsewhere, so we're conditioned to see each other as the competition. I think the reason the ST is heavily bashed on this site is that in general the type of person that prefers the FJR for it's sportiness and style sees the ST as a...

    Harley Ride report

must... resist... urge... to hate... Harleys. But man they suck!

    Am I lugging it?

5th gear at 31 mph? That's incredibly weird.... and stupid.

    Hi Viz Opinions

That's a great idea. Put on the dweeby yellow color when you really need it and look cool the rest of the time. B)

    Saddlebags- On or Off?

Off almost all the time, which is generally local commutes. I like the handling of the bike better without them. I use a cortech tail bag for carrying things.

    melted boots

I have these on my bike. They work great. They look good too IMHO. I can rest my heels on them if I feel like it with no melting. I particularly had the problem on the left side where the center stand would force my heel onto the pipe... now I don't need to think about it any more.

    Riding Impression: FJR1300 vs ST1300

Ah well, it's always fun. Personally I never get tired of it... that and Harley bashing (seriously. I'm not being sarcastic).

fingers on the front brake lever

Two fingers on at all times. I personally don't see any need for four and two gives better throttle control using the pinky and that other finger next to it. I can heave the brake as hard as required with only two.

    Riding Impression: FJR1300 vs ST1300

    More like this.

    Riding Impression: FJR1300 vs ST1300

I test rode both before buying and your description fits mine exactly. One other thing was that my wife said to me as I was sitting on the ST: "you look like an old man on that thing".

    What are they??

The dealer put those on my bike and I wish he hadn't because they peel at the edges and look crappy from up close.

Wrecked 08 going uphill--throttle response or FI? Tankslapper

Sorry to hear about your get-off. Especially on a new bike. Can't offer any insights other than I've never had any kind of surge on my '05.

    Got My new 07AE

Ha! He's lucky anybody's here to reply on Memorial day. We should all be out camping, picnicking, or riding... or any combination thereof.

    Got My new 07AE

    I don't get it.

    Riding Gear

I have an Olympia Airglide 2 jacket that I'm very happy with. Very comfortable and stout. Stays cool too. It replaced a firstgear meshtex that was pretty flimsy... fortunately not crash tested though. I've had the same issues with firstgear pant zippers mentioned earlier. Get a different brand...
